Bottleneck?

Hello....

I haven't posted/been on these forums in a while....But I think I may have a possible bottleneck?

I have some pictures that I will attach that have most of the info but basically I am getting scores of 11000 in 3dmark06 on my GTS250....Now my 2900pro got like 9600 I think* But all the scores I am seeing are at least above 13k in 3d06...granted this card is mid-range...But thats not right :/

So I figure their is a bottleneck in the CPU...E6400 @ 3.2ghz...I do have a new AM3 mobo ... in the middle of doing a complete rebuild....but this 680i only has pci 1.0 and the new has pcie 2.0...Could that cause a slowdown? I am getting some more parts on Thursday I think...Right now all I have a Athlon X2 4200 to test in the new mobo and thats slower than my core 2...But Phenom II X4 should change that mefinks.

Just at a loss here...Not sure if I am expecting to much out of my vid card :( So opinions? Not sure I even posted in the right forum...but I am almost positive it is a cpu bottleneck...Just not sure so I figure I would post and see what you guys think

There no bottle neck matey, the GPU isnt that quick. The bus speed on the dual is high so thats fine, were the results you have seen on the same cpu? You will see a score boost from a different cpu but thats obvious, its because the new cpu is quicker not the fact yours is limiting your GPU.

A bottle neck is an extreme situation, not generally seen from a reasonable setup. You would need a 5870 to get any problems related to bottle necking with your system tbh.

The one I am comparing it to I think had a E8400 for the cpu...So thats probably it. Just have to wait for ma quad to arrive I guess :/

Yeah i agree with tinytom, no bottleneck. You normally see bottlenecks with dual GPU cards or with P4's systems with a fast GPU. Your CPU is fast enough to handle this card.
