Is it worth me going to Blu-ray i.e. buying a blu-ray drive and start buying blu-ray films?, or just stick with dvds?, because im thinking of buying a few movies instead of downloading them and i dont wana waste money then everything changes into blu-ray (lols).

Blu-ray is much better imo, some people may think different.

I would go blu-ray and get away from nasty downloading :), I see blu-ray drives available in Asda for around £97 which is really good. The quality is amazing, do you have an HDTV?

well,i bought a bluray drive a while ago (pioneer) it was good but older films like RAMBO first blood looked awful,so its quite limited to new films i think from ironman/darknight onwards that you get the full awsome visuals, but when u see iron man ay full HD on a 42'' it looks awsome, ide stick with DVD as its still looks good (not near bluray),unless u got the cash to burn then get a decent 24'' monitor and a decent bluray like LG or pioneer even sony and go crazy.

Basically i am using a monitor with 1680x1050 and i was thinking of buying a couple of movies but i wasnt sure wether to buy them in dvd or buy a blu-ray drive and blu-ray movies?

You're using your computer? If so stick to DVD's.

to be full HD you need 1920*1080 res, stick to DVD'S save the cash for some or summet for ur rig

blu ray looks better even on 720p :)

I use my monitor on my PS3 for blu-ray at 1080p and it is a lot better than dvd. Even when on 720p it looks better in quality/colour etc :D

I don't have many blu-rays atm tho as they are still quite expensive :(

Blu Ray is superb, no doubt of it's superiority. However, you need a decent sized 1080p TV and a High Def audio setup to really appreciate what it's about.

720p is still pretty spangly though, beats the hell outta DVD any day
