Blown PSU?

Well I just got my rig all set back up and ready to run but she aint runnin' :(

When I click on the rear main power supply the power lights on the mobo all come on, then when I hit the power button it gives me a about a 1/4 second power on then it dies... When I turn the power switch off on the back of the psu it makes a crazy noise when it discharges, a high pitch wine of some sort, never done that before!

I think it died when I tried to jumpstart it when refilling my waterloop to get all of the water circulating and it wouldnt work, which I though was strange, it would momentarily jump the pumps on then make that wierd noise... So I grabbed a POS psu to jump and get the water in the loop and get the air out, that worked fine.

Sooo that leaves me where I am now thinking my new OCZ PSU is kentucky friend chicken.

Any ideas? Need to get this sorted before monday rolls around so I can next day air the psu back to Newegg for RMA if it is in fact blown, and no, I don't have an extra 24-pin psu to check and see if it works.

there are many issues with the DFI booting up frag...prob not your psu.

put one stick of memory in slot 2 (orange at the top) clear CMOS, leave for 5 mins with battery out. try again.

how many diagnostis LED's do you have?

I see like 2 diagnostics led's i believe... But this isn't really a non-boot issue dave, this is a non powerup issue. The non-boot issues give you the retarded long beep and shit but everything in ur case runs.

ok maybe u did fuxor ur psu then :(

o why o why did u jumpstart it?

I wonder that too... I should have just used my $30 POS psu for jumping but I figured the OCZ could handle a little jump, lol. Guess I'll RMA the bitch!

lol, if newegg ever read this site they will despair at the money you have thrown away for them!

Nick, give it up, as long as I live I'll never own an Enermax! (not that they're bad but I have other brands placed ahead of Enermax) :p

Edit: Got my PSU shipped out next day air today, it'll be there monday morning before 10:30, which means Newegg should ship my replacement Tuesday and I should have the new one by thursday, friday at the latest... Gotta love working for UPS, next day a heavy ass box across the country for $30 :D

lollers i'm a bad computer omen... any computer I get within 10 feet of gets broken somehow! I hate it :( Why do the computer Gods hate me??????????????????????

Well anyhow I'm running to Best Buy on my lunch break today to pick up an Antec TrueControl 550w PSU to get me by the few days I won't have my OCZ PSU. Then when my new one comes in I'll return the Antec, I'm so evil.

why not KEEP THE ANTEC. Antec's are great PSU's! You'll be happy with it and It'd be a TOTAL waste of the greens if you buy it and dont use it. I'd rather have that than the OCZ. Antec is a very very good brand, and that PSU is a monster.

--And if an Enermax is up to the task of powering PV's light-filled PC, it should power anyones. enermax.

Short Answer: OCZ's are better.

Long Answer: Because OCZ's are better :)

Longer answer: Lights do not take much power at all....Running 2x 12v pumps do. Also Entermax don't really care about their home user market anymore...and their PSU colours are ghey
