Blender creates an official benchmark

Don't worry too much about it, it crashed 3/4 for me too at the Classroom render doesn't matter whether it's GPU or CPU it will randomly crash. I use Blender on a daily basis and run renders all the time so I know it's not my system, something I have noticed and probably makes this a touch invalid for an official bench right now is that it's running on Blenders Beta 2.80 engine. Most if not all Blender users are still on 2.79b or the real early access 2.90 (real time rendering, can't wait for that).
Oh, looking at the result I posted, mine ran on 2.79. :D

Nope only loads 2.80 for me and renders on 2.80 too. So I'm guessing this is hit or miss, shame as I'd like to have seen a genuine blender bench for a change.

EDIT: Had a little time so pulled the scene from the bench and ran it via Blender 2.79b directly with the scenes default settings and hey presto.

Not the greatest for Cuda if I'm honest but quick non the less, I thought the scenes would be bigger too but they are only 960x540... I'll have another play later with the other scenes included in the bench. I really do hope they polish this and stick with it as it would be amazing to have a real world reliable bench for a change.

Fingers crossed fella, I'd love a real competitive bench for once. Kudos Blender.org for bringing this to us.

Yeah, it kinda sickens me that cinebench R15 is 4 versions behind the latest version of Cinema4D. R20 is coming soon and the benchmark is still for version 15...
