Ok so i don't know old this news is as lately I haven't been keeping tabs on game releases and news about them but today I looked at some Black Ops news and BLAH!

"Call of Duty: Black Ops for PC will ship with dedicated server support this November, but there's a catch if you want to run your own server.

Activision and Treyarch studios announced GameServers.com will be the exclusive dedicated server provider when the game launches."

Why, Why O Why!

All I can think of is many reasons why not.

•Many of GameServers.com servers suck in a lot of country's and have crappy ISP's on top of that *coff* Australia *coff*

•Mods will be limited and can't have fun with them like in COD4

•No LAN servers

•Putting all the eggs in one basket, What if GameServers.com starts having issues for what ever reason BAM! Total game play is down in one country.

It's Just be like MW2 only now you can put "Admin" on your name and kick people.

End rant.

There will be LAN servers, the competitive side of the CoD game would be dead before release.

The reason being they get a lot of money from GameServers.com and that's all they care about.

Activision used to be a decent company, they did awesome work with the FREE Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

MONEY MONEY MONEY IS SO FUNNY.

Hackers will hack if need be.

Dedicated LAN server?

And Hackers will hack

All they would need is a insider at GameServers.com to leak the code and we'll be right

The same was done with the Wolfenstein for PC. The game was awaited by the gamers for 8 years... they never listened to anyone. They added ironsights and everything that everyone never wanted.... they ruined it and hackers ruined their game. They got leaked version, hacked their code, created public servers... PunkBuster was hacked within hours.... cheaters everywhere... nobody likes the game before release... not many people paid for it... the last time I checked users online: 12..... FAIL...

That's what companies get for not listening to the players.... could easily happen to Black Ops.

Did I not mention this before?

My bad.

Anyways.

This is why I'll buy it on the PS3.

Seem no different plus I get to play with all my friends.

Same with Zak, i'm getting it for 360 to play with friends. Might pick up a PC copy when its cheaper (although MW2 is still very expensive for PC).

COD games dont seem to drop in price as much as other games cuz they're so popular =/

I dont think it is because of that, Team fortress 2 is popular, Counter strike was/is popular you can get them both for $5 when they have crazy specials.

COD 4 is still $50 hardly ever on special with a release date of "Release Date: 12 Nov 2007" almost a 3 year old game, Team Fortress 2 came out "Release Date: 10 Oct 2007" so almost the same age yet one is up to and some times over 10 times the price.

I would go more with Dan's comment

you might aswell keep playing COD4. its the same game aside from the few minor gfx tweaks. i didnt waist my time and money on this game. i will however get it if the get a new game engine and make it worth wild to get =P

I think it stores the theatre videos and monitors, fixes internet behaviour so the advantages of 1 Gameserver is good and consistent and I think the standards are met. Dodgy launch though eh! game code isn't good enough still for navigating in the menu
