Bitspower 400mm ZTank Reservoir
Bitspower.
A name synonymous with high quality,premium watercooling fittings.
Many high quality builds feature these fantastic,if expensive,products.
But there is more to their company than just fittings,they cover a whole range of products from blocks to pump mod kits and what we are looking at today...The Bitspower ZTank 400mm Clear Reservoir.

The normal ZTank is a staple of mine but this is a new version with clear ends instead of the more usual black POM offerings,excellent for lighting the res and showing off the range of fluids currently flooding the market.
So,lets take a look at this shall we?
The box is thick walled and shows the Bitspower livery. Nice thick sponge wraps the res for transport very well.
Open it up to find the res itself
First thing that strikes you is the size of this res,very long and wide,it wont fit in most cases but im sure people will find a way.
A closer look at the new endcaps,machined from acrylic and polished to a mirror smooth finish on the outside with a little frosting on the waterface
This little fella is the Bitspower Anti cyclone fitting,I tend to remove this as it looks restrictive but it does do what is designed for.
Well plated and has all the usual Bitspower quality.
This end cap has a lot going on,3 ports and 3 fittings for you to use.
The jet is designed to blow bubbles away from the pump inlet if you choose to use both inlets on this end or,if you run a top inlet and a bottom outlet,it allows the return feed to be below the waterline in your res. This is vital to stop splashing and potential air getting mixed in your chosen fluid.
We also have the iconic Bitspower blanking plug in silver and the Crystal fitting for the optional LED.
We have got to the main reason why you would have this over the original ZTank,the fitting doesnt enter the res as such,it screws in but remains within the depth of the cap. In the POM version, this causes the light to be weak and a little directional,but in this version the light is uncovered and can set about the business of lighting up your pride and joy.
The body of the res itself is thick and the clarity is exceptional.
You can see where the money went!
All in all,another great product from one of the industry leaders.
The quality is fantastic,the res has a weighty feel which i like and its competitively priced in relation to other products in its niche.
I also like the options available separately from Bitspower,different endcaps,coloured bodies and much more.
The website could be better,its clunky and slow but it has an amazing array of goodies to look at.
I would recommend them to anyone,this quality at that pricepoint is a no brainer for me.
The one fly in the ointment for me is the res mounts,very basic ratchet style clips,they work very well but they are not the prettiest i have ever seen. This is a small detail for me,new mounts for res are available everywhere if you take a dislike and want to change them.
