BIOSTAR announce upcoming motherboard features

Yeah, I don't know how they expect me to run my eight GPU's, two sound cards, two raid cards, and two PCI-e SSD's. Poor showing from Biostar.

They might make decent motherboards but still pretty low

Low in what respect?

They were once a leading company who focussed on performance and features instead of gamer looks.

I have had their p67 boards and they were better than ASUS or EVGA at the time. At least when it came to my overclock stability. No idea what they are like now but they certainly weren't low quality if that is what you referred to.

Budget company desperately trying to play with the big boys. They will need to make a name for themselves with overclockers and so on. I wouldn't buy one now basically.

Yeah I am actually wondering where they went wrong because they were never a budget company before. Perhaps they focussed on the wrong markets when the PC gaming era exploded and found it hard to catch up.

As long as I have known them they have been a budget company mostly making junk like this.

Mate of mine bought a AMD FX board and it was 4 phase with no phase cooling at all.

So yeah, they are trying to make a name for themselves as one of the big boys. From a quick check they don't even make an X99 board at all.

So they are going to have to work pretty hard for me to take them seriously or consider any of their boards tbh.

Everyone s***ing on Biostar should check out the wikipeadia article. I am not saying they are the greatest company around, but they have some accolades in their history. I am one of the older guys around here and I remember them being around when I started building PCs. They are not small either.

Exactly! They are not as bad as people make them out to be.

I never said they were bad. I just said that most of what they knock out is bargain bin stuff. That's not necessarily bad but they will need to prove to me that they know how to make a decent board before I will buy one, if that makes sense.

It's like Asrock. People still saying they are a budget company yet they have made some stellar boards over the past couple of years. I would not hesitate to buy an Asrock high end board now, but only because they have received consistently good reviews of late.

Last time I chanced money on a unknown board was Foxconn (Bloodrage) and it was horrible. The bios was the worst I have ever had.

Yeah, I remember when ASRock was considered a poor brand to go with. Over the last three-four years, though, they've completely changed that image. Tomshardware among others have consistently rated their boards as some of the best value for money in each category and I have no doubt that has been a major influence for them in that area. I was not fond of the BIOS, but that was two years ago; I'm sure it's improved now.

I liked the bios tbh. Very simple and easy to navigate but I can see why some people would want more. I've been doing some poking around and seriously right now Biostar are cheap and tacky. Take a look at the panel they use with their "top end" motherboard.

It's really horrible and tacky. Cheap plastic, cheap plastic buttons and the crime of the century, green and pink audio jacks. Seriously, is this 1998?

I hope they can make some good boards. I mean let's face it, Gigabyte are not to be trusted any more (VRM skanks) MSI have a crap RMA base (don't hold replacements after they are EOL) and Asus are just downright pricey.

I have a contact in Taiwan, and he reckons within a couple of years we could be down to Asus and Gigabyte. MSI are not doing terribly well financially in the board department.

lol that maybe one time boy haven't there fallen hard then Hahha

For me there always been at the bottom of the barrel with the likes of ECS and so on.

with the P67 motherboard that's your opinion to me i have never like the looks of their motherboards.

TBH RMA of all ASUS, Gigabyte & MSI are all bad, Not many companies that have good RMA dept.

lol no wonder why MSI are doing bad they keep making bad choices with motherboards with design bye making the motherboard look super tacky & if you take the WS boards out ASUS is catching up pretty damn quick.

I know you don't like Jayz but when Jayz redid his build he changed from a Gigabyte board to the MSI Godlike (i'm saying Godlike in a stupid voice ) Carbon the damn motherboard didn't even work seems like no QC is going on with MSI now so no wonder why their in trouble.
