Have an Aorus 1080ti gpu and it runs a bit too hot. I have adjusted the Fan Stop so it doesnt "stop" using the Aorus Graphics Engine but I see they haVE A bios UPDATE ( I will get use to new mechanical keyboard and stop hitting the Caps lock when I type A )

Never done a BIOS update for GPU's and all the instructions show are they have one for HDMI and DP ( AH Bios )and another for DVI-D (AD bios )

So as I have a Display Port I should use the AH bios if I flash the Bios ?

Its a $1000 card so dont want to risk screwing the card if people think a BIOS upgrade is a waste of time.

So I just double click whilst in windows and the BIOS will flash ?

iirc it was around 80 to 90C , I am not sure the fans were boosting up quick enough so I changed that in the fan customization in the graphics engine

since then its been ok.......and just wondering if the new BIOS may address this issue

actually have ALL my case fans change colour based on gpu temps.......so I can keep an eye on it

1080Tis are very hot cards dude. Very, very hot cards. The core is immense.

So you are going to have to put up with a bit of noise if you want the performance I'm afraid. That or go water.

I had a stock XP for about three weeks. Then I ran a game that loaded it up 100% and it immediately sounded like a rocket.

not worried about the noise....I just think the fan didnt kick in soon enough

just curious as to what the new BIOS will do and how to install it...........you have 2 sub folders with x64 and x86 with executables as well as an executable in the folder above so which one ?

Does it flash via Windows? If so then use the X64 version. The X86 is only there for people who don't run a 64 bit OS.

Most people would see the executable in the main folder and use that but Gigabyte has to confuse the hell out of everyone by having 2 seperate folders that have executables in them as well

and in the instructions they post they only mention what BIOS to use depending on your monitor connection

What a lovely experience it is trying to get a Gigabyte Passport so you can send a question asking them about the BIOS process. One you register you are taking back to the same register page...........and when you exit and login at passport it gives an error for password
So 30 minutes later......I give up

what the hell ...bit my tongue and just run the executable in the main folder and it worked

still cant get the Aorus Graphic Engine to work correctly....it freezes and only sees the graphic card and not the motherboard
