Bios tweaking for dfi expert.

Ok I am using these settings on my dfi expert with a 57fx and a set of redlines.

They are parameters the Mushkin say are to most stable for there ram(except for the ht/fsb, multi, and vcore).

What I want to know is that altough stable is there any settings that would have a bad effect on the performance.

My ram if stable at 270ht with 3.5volts at 2-2-2-6. I am sure they could do more with higher voltage but thats as high as I wont to go for now as I have only just got them back from an RMA, they still need burning in too.

The main thing I am not sure of is the many different timmings, I now the main 4 but am unsure of the rest, is it that lower is better for all of them?

Dram frequency set-200.

Command per clock-Enabled.

dram drive stength-level 8

dram data drive strength-level 3

dram response time-normal

read preamble time-auto

idlecycle limit-256 cycles

dynamic counter-disabled

r/w queue bypass-16x

32 byte granularity-disable(8 bursts)

fsb bus frequency-265

ltd/fsb frequency ratio-x3.0

cpu muti-13

k8 cool n quiet support-disabled

cpu vid startup-1.25

cpu vid control-1.50

cpu vid special control-116%

ltd voltage control-1.3v

chip set voltage control-1.6v

TRFC to 16 (then drop it to 15,14, 12 if you can)

Tref to 3120

LDT Multi from x3 to x4

In fact copy over my BIOS settings from the old SLI-DR thread with the exception of TWCL set to auto (it auto sets to 1 - but I get beeps if I manually enter it).

If you are happy with those voltages (as above) do not change them either (CPU, VID Start up etc...) the EXPERT is a biatch to set-up, the last thing I'd want you to do is screw it all up by adjusting your volts.

I never play with drive strengths and set RAM speed to Normal - although some have been more successful using the weak setting.

What slots are you useing?

Orange one mate. I first tries the yellow which actuly worked unlike the non expert mobo but they where less stable than the orange. I am using the 07/12/5 bios.

The board is good but as the bios settings are from mushlin I would imagine that there one and only priority is stabillity not perfomance. I have used there rated timmings but as the sticks are so good I am sure they could be flexible with the timmings so if there is something that would really in the settings that is holding back the performance then maybe the ram would be stable with better performing timmings.:)
