I fitted a new motherboard yesterday, but cant seem to get rid of the message CMOS CHECKSUM BAD when booting. Ive tried 3 different bios but none help. Ive also removed ram and sata hdd's but still get the error. I aslo did a fresh install of vista 64 which is running without issues.

please help..pulling my hair out over this!!

Sounds like a corrupted BIOS to me - try taking the battery out for 60 seconds and then completing a full CMOS reset.

Then try different components (ram, cpu etc) and see if swapping any of those out helps.

thanks for the reply mav.

very strange!! took ram out of socket 1 and put in the stick from socket 3(only running with 1gig ) and it boots without issues?! i guess 1 stick is faulty, except it worked fine in my old asus motherboard......more expence!
