I can get some BH-5 Geil One stick for £90 posted. 512mb x 2

Thicky has said i need to get decent ram and he is right but i duno what to get.

I'm an intel lad and a 478 system so what do i get?

My fsb is 250mhz and will go more when i go water cooled

Depends on the voltage you have available to ya DIMMS mate. BH5 or UTT or CH RAM requires 3.4volts or higher to break 250Mhz, of course the timings are nice and tight then though 2-2-2-5 ;)

I heard that Intel chipset does not like TCCD (but dont know how true that is) so there is some hynix stuff you can use made by OCZ and Corsair sold as PC4400 (DDR550) set at 2.5-4-4-8, which should be okay for you.

PS I owe you some pics - will do em today :$

Er is what the seller has told me.

Specs PC4000 (DDR500) 2-2-2-5 1T @ 3.48v

1.5-2-2-5 1T @ 200mhz 2.8v.

Voltage range within warranty 2.6-3.8V (these are rated the highest of any

BH5 and will withstand 3.8v whereas any OCZ/Mushkin are only rated to 3.5v).

Likely (but untested) to run at CAS1.5 at 250mhz (a lot of users of this

stuff have done so). I've had them memtest stable @ 260mhz 2-2-2-5 1T with

3.6v.

Thickbrit modded my Asus P4Ce-delux dude with vdim so it should do it right? An OCZ booster would do it too right? Oh are so ya do, it's a tie up between water cool NB for looks and saying hey i can have 3 lopps or going air but i'll probs need it for spears

Ooo the new GeIL One PC4000 :P I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a set of that aswell lol.

I've really gotta stop buying RAM :S

I take it by your kid in a sweetie shop style of replying to get the Geil Bh-5 for £90 posted but am i going to have luck with in and get 1:1 on my setup?

Lol yea was it obvious? I'm running BH5 in mine atm @ 3v @ 234mhz no probs at all. Mines PC3500 so slower stock speed than that GeIL stuff. You should be ok up to at least 270mhz 1:1 on it. My PC3500 will do that anyway.

Cheers

Oh yeah totaly. Thickbrits mods to my bord will let me do the required 3.6v say? £90 posted RMSD a good deal?

I think so mate - the stuff burns in quiite nicely too so as boardy says higher cloack are achieveable.

I like the one series stuff - almost as good as my legendary BH5 - which for the record if I was gonna sell - it'd be for at least £160.

Right ignor everything.

Just spent ages googling the net and found a OCZ tech surports post from an OCZ guy. By the way mine has the V1.1 in the corner. So what timings should i do to get to 1:1. Slackest 1st being what? As you should of picked up by now and guess i have no balls, brains ideals etc etc to do with RAM so please give all pointers you can.

We are using TCCD and TCC5

v1.1 (Tiny in lower right hand corner of white sticker) on the PC3200 Rev 2, PC4200, and PC4800 Platinum's are TCC5

v1.0 on the same is TCCD.

''Just thought someone would like to know as all you know that these sticks got some insane overclocking potential....''

Found on the same forum i pull the above off!

Lol, I have the EXACT same sticks sat in front of me right now. Not used them yet apart from diagnosing a problem with my mobo, which turned out to be my stupid fault and forgot about BH5 needing voltage.

They are pretty good chips but I would SERIOUSLY recommend getting BH5 for an Intel rig mate. Most Intel chipsets don't like TCCx RAM.

Going to run mem test over night on a bootable version so we shall see what they can do etc etc.

Hows that then
