For those who are unaware, I have put together a TOP NOTCH (top) "retro benching" setup since I am hooked on computers and benching, and Im a freak and absolutely must have the best of the best
Current setup is as follows:
Mobo: P4C800 Deluxe (best would be P4C800-E deluxe, but its a tougher find)
CPU: Varies. I bench a variety of P4s
Memory: All BH-5. 4 X 512mb of Mushkin PC3500 Black level 2, and 2 X 512mb of Teamgroup Extreme 500 mhz (PC3800???). I switch out the ram and test them all individually depending on what I am doing to see what works out best.
PSU: Corsair HX620W
GPU: Switch out a bunch of old AGP GPUs that I bench with. Currently I think I have a Maddog MC440 (or something like that) in the rig.
I also have an OCZ DDR Booster but it has not arrived yet. CPU cooling is LN2, and GPU cooling is stock. RAM cooling provided by placing either a 80mm or 120mm fan on top of them, which cools the ram itself but also all of the cold vapor from the CPU pot gets drawn down onto them cooling them even further.
BH-5 ram and s478 is before my time as a computer enthusiast and overclocker. Most of my questions are related to the ram.
How much in term of volts should I give my BH-5 sticks? I have been told on the P4C800 deluxe I should give them 3.6volts, or at least darn close to that.
How high can I expect BH-5 to overclock?
Any suggestions or links on overclocking BH-5 ram appreciated
TY!
