Come on peeps, watch and sign if you have any respect for the game.I miss the old BF2 recorder,it was bloody awesome.

(Can we have the "Old" removed from the section now, seeing as Aftershox has been kicked into touch?)

we campaigned for this since bf3 release along with mod tools etc.. I was hoping they would include it with the new amazing spectator mode (which is, amazing) but I get the impression the way things move around he game is store in a different way now so it's probably fundamentally impossible for them to make it work.

The other thing I noticed, spectator mode is live aka, there is no delay like when you watch a CS:GO match... this is probably going to cause issues with ghosting at one stage or another.

I signed this. Very close to hitting 10,000 actually. About 250 or so away (Just checked)

It really would be an awesome feature, great for youtubers, esports fans etc. and above all else we are talking about a business here it is FREE advertising but I guess that depends on how much it costs to implement in the first place

Agree with SuB. They should, but they won't, as much as I'd hope they would. Someone from the community will have to hack something together and risk getting his accounts banned for doing something a good competetive game should do out of the box...

Even if they did want to agree to it, is there still enough time for this type of thing to be implemented?

I have no idea about programming so I don't know how long it takes, but I can't imagine it's quick

The issue is, no-one has the code to hack something together so far as I know ? Even de-compiling/compressing the files from the game is against ToS.. and they will 100% ban your account and stuff (including all your origin games) for anything like this. AKA, they switch your account of for X amount of hours/days/weeks....

As for time left, there is plenty, if the engine can do it. But my impression is that the game doesn't work the same way previous titles did, in that, your movements are not stored/done in the same way. So it can't be recording in a numbers kind of way like with BF2. Why do I think this? Well, just look at the client-side hit reg first.. obviously the server isn't the over-arching element it used to be to work out hit detection so I wonder if any telemetry is even stored server-side at all now, which is basically what Battlerecorder is/was.

So I don't think there's any chance this will ever come along, again another example of them using third party tech, that they won't license out so we can't have mod tools, or anything else the community around the game desires.

With Bf4 coming out so soon after 3, you can see why they didn't even bother with mod tools for 3, because that would keep people playing 3 instead of chucking another £54.99 for the game and £39.99 for bf4 premium...

EA All over, just give them your money, lube up and bend over. There is no winning with them.

Edit3: Just had a thought though.. They still actively persue 'hackers' right? Surely the only REAL way to do this is to watch the player cheat in real-time... there must be some kind of information stored on the server... otherwise how would they prove it?.. hmm

(sorry for the brain-splat)

I was watching one of Zh1nt0's charity streams last night with himself and JackFrags.

Zh1nt0 has a meeting at DICE with other devs today and he said that Battle Recorder is one of the of the things they are discussing. He did make clear that they are only discussing it, but it still shows hope.

He did speak more about his opinions on a Battle Recorder on the live stream and was also saying that a lot of people at DICE want it as well. He was also saying it's not the Devs who make the decision on it being made and it's the guys at the top who make the decision.

At least we know it's being discussed, whether it will actually happen or not is a different story though.

aka EA/Dice (the people that bought the license for parts of the engine that they aren't willing to openly admit to)
