BF3 stuttering PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi guys, when playing BF3 both online and offline I get lagging or stuttering. I have run the render.perfoverlayvisible 1 and I can see that the CPU is spiking. The spikes on the graph go off the scale to the top of the monitor. Please can someone tell me what to do as I have invested in a gtx 670 and I can't really play.

Any help would be much appreciated.

What cpu do you have and what graphics drivers are you using?

Ok I have a amd phenom x 4 955 @ 4Ghz. The CPU is stable done loads of prime testing. GPU Drivers are 301.42.

According to the Nvidia website the latest drivers are 306.23

The AMD website should have a list. I haven't checked in a while.

Turn the overclocks on gpu and cpu off. BF3 sometimes doesn't like it

Are you running the game off a slow HDD? How much RAM does your system have?
