Hi guys, I have a q8200 at stock (2.33ghz). My gpu is a hd 4850. I wanted to know if my cpu is bottlenecking my gpu. It's clock speed is on the low side even though it's a quad. Unfortunately I can't overclock it as my pc is a factory built Fujitsu. I set the res to 1366 x 768 and all the video options to low on bf3 and I get between 25-40 fps on single player, however its not playable online. Also I have 4gb ddr2 ram running at 800mhz.

I told you bro it is not your CPU, but it's good to get some more opinions.
just to addd fuel to the fire, well not really no as i think the other guys are wrong to a degree.
yes that cpu at that speed will be holding that gpu back some, even at 4ghz the gpu would be doing worse than with a stock 2500k.
a better gpu in that pc would give you better performance but it too would still be held back by that cpu, time to upgrade i think dude.
pm rawz about getting you a good deal on a cpu/mobo/ram/heatsink combo as i am sure he can sort you out something with a good price
you want 4 cores cpu and 8gb of ram and you will get a jump in fps from that old gpu and the best out of any other gpu you was to add to it later.

Fair enough. It's just that the more recent games don't require the CPU as much (apart from a few).
