What exactly do you mean by refreshing? Does the terrain look better/Are the textures of a better quality?

I didn't use the right word.
Improved minimap
- Map mode shows the most important tactical geometries such as buildings, objects, roads and water.
- Satellite mode displays a top-down photograph of the level for increased terrain detail.
- Hybrid mode combines the Satellite view with a Map overlay, offering a mix of quick tactical awareness and terrain detail.

if you have base weapons without unlocks on them you are at a disadvantage it is much more realistic

Yep, the map change is nice.
I found the base weapons to be OK for the most part. I don't like the "shortcuts" they are adding, which means you can unlock everything without actually spending the time to earn the unlocks.

Don't you have to purchase those shortcuts? Anyway I like the idea of the IR flares being unlocked at level 1. It's good for those who have just started and it's hell without them.

Yeh, you have to purchase them, but it is still a stupid idea and it takes away from people earning unlocks.

The tank nerf is utter bullcrap. They get destroyed so easily now

I think vehicles have suffered the most. The stinger has been given a shorter lock on time and the tank nerf. I'm sure they'll cop alot of flame from the community about this.

I got killed last night by 1 javelin when in a tank I nearly had an apoplexy I mean seriously 1 jav WTF? It's a wonder you all didn't hear me cursing from your respective places LOL!

On another note I'm happy about the changes to infantry, hit registration appears to be a lot better. The .44 is way OP now, so it should be. They've ruined the M16 from what I've heard, i'm yet to try it but my love of the M416 has been rekindled.
