Bethesda releases the PC system requirements for Dishonored 2

I love that the recommended specs aren't really anything to write home about, Sorry Permafrost... :p

But it's good to see a game that doesn't need immense amounts of power to run decently, Well, Going by the recommended specs.

Les sigh. 680s just don't cut the mustard these days i guess.

I'll look art upgrading one of these days.

I'm finding my HD 7870 is still doing fine at 720p. As soon as I grab a monitor upgrade I'll need a GPU too; that XFX R9 Fury is damn tempting at £270.

It's tempting, but I don't think it'll be worth it. 4GB is enough for 1080p and 1440p. It's even enough for 4k in some instances, not that you should consider buying a Fury for 4k. But if you intend to keep your GPU as long as you likely kept your 7970, I personally feel it will be worth considering waiting for Vega. There may be a heavily cut down version of Vega 10 that will perform in line with a 1070 but with vastly superior memory configuration (quite possible HBM2 8GB minimum) and improved TDP. Power consumption isn't everything, but it matters to me. I don't mind a card drawing tons of power if it has tons of power. The Fury GPU is now a midrange GPU when this time last year it was just below AMD's flagship and cost €650.

Vega is certainly an exciting prospect. It all really depends on when things get released. I'm never guaranteed a time to purchase so I tend to keep a rolling plan going and then pull the trigger on whatever I've decided when the cash is available.

My current plan is to learn to water-cool. I'd rather spend my cash on water-cooling equipment for a more exciting build than higher end hardware so I need a card that'll take a block as my first step. Right now I'm torn between the Fury and an EVGA GTX 1060 FTW+ (which will accept a reference GTX1070/80 block).

I understand.

If you're hoping to take a stab at water cooling and you're not that heavily interested in the best graphics card, a Fury would be a solid GPU to go with. The 1060 doesn't benefit from water cooling, really. It's not thermally limited. A 480 would be better than a 1060, but then a Fury is more powerful than a 480, so it's an awkward one. :p

It certainly is. I'm also considering an R9 Nano if I can source one for around the £300 mark. Apparently they become absolute monsters under water.

Yeah, with a different BIOS the Nano is basically a single slot Fury X. It's the fully unlocked GPU but with drastically reduced core clocks. If you find a Nano with decent silicon in it you should be able to hit well over Fury X performance for a lot less money. Again, making the Fury X a completely stupid product.

Sounds like a win. I'm looking at a £290 R9 Nano on Ebay right now. So tempting to do it right now but my wife would kill me. Hopefully they'll still be there in a few weeks once I've drummed up some more funds.

£290 seems a little high to me. You should be able to find one for cheaper than that. I can't be sure of that, but it does feel too high in my opinion.

Fair enough, I'll keep looking around. Seriously the whole political landscape in the UK lately has made pricing so inconsistent it's making my head spin...

The price might be that high because that's what its market value is. I just feel like it should be less. I would want to pay around £180-200, but £250 seems more realistic. Even that might not be possible, though.
