Bethesda releases Fallout 76 teaser trailer

DayZ/Rust.

It's Fallout online, basically. That is why I have changed my stance a little from yesterday, and instead of being angry I had to accept that millions out there will be desperate for an online Fallout game.

Just not me. However, the world does not revolve around I :)

Well if done right, it could be a big hit. I guess Dayz and Rust relied on kickstarter or early access purchases to fund development. FO "online" lets call it that, already has a strong backing, big team etc.

Since you cant copyright a game model/genre, they could take into account where others fail and produce a masterpiece.

I'm not convinced about a MMO I think it'll be more a Farcry/State of Decay/L4D2 style co-op. I was hoping for the new game engine (Starfield) but it looks like they've just added more paint to the old one and included the new animation system we'll see in good time.

If it has co op and you can block out the public? it's going to be bell in mitt. Totally, bell in mitt. My social life and family time will evaporate.

Rumour regarding what the game is actually about.

OMG. So it is actually a red blooded Fallout game? consider me stunned. Dumbfounded even.

And very VERY happy :D

Ditto. The only thing concerning me now is how modding will/won't be incorporated given the co-op element.

TBH? if you can do it in co op it could be giving oral sex, I would still do it :D

It actually sounds rather fun, if you are doing it in co op. Because of my mental condition/s I am a very private person. In social situations I tend to get stressed and then talk too much, so I prefer not having to liaise with people I don't know.

Thus, co op is a bit of a lifeline for me because the people I play with know me personally and properly and fully understand. And I can't tell you what a gift that is for some one like me, who otherwise would have very little verbal social contact with anyone. Co op is a godsend, tbh.

Jokes about fellatio aside though I can honestly see it being rather fun, if you are doing it with a chum. I bet it will cause quite a few laughs. I mean crap, every time I run some one down in FC5 and the car bumps over them we crack up laughing.

Haha. I fully understand where you are coming from. I'm excited to see some more co-op content in modern games even though I rarely use it these days (I have fond memories of Halo couch co-op in my teens).

I always play Bethesda games Vanilla to start with anyway so I'm still very excited to get my hands on this game for at least one playthrough. It's just that for my preferences the potential restriction on modding will effect my ability to enjoy the game through further playthroughs depending on how well it's made in the first place.

It's all horses for courses and I am very glad that even if this game doesn't suit my needs in the long term the sacrifice will have given more enjoyment to people with other priorities. Who knows, now my daughter is getting older I can start setting aside more reliable times to begin co-op gaming again.

haha I'm already one step ahead thinking about the box set and how much it will make my bank account cry :D

For me it's more how much it will cost me to get my best mate PC gaming. He loves Fallout more than I do, but he's a console guy. I gave him a rig about two years ago with my old FX-4170 and a HD 7870 in it. Not great, but for free it's a good entry level rig. He still prefers to use his PS4. Not that I have an issue with console users. I grew up on them and still have a few for the games that need them.

Grr. I may have to force his hand on this one and buy the game for him on PC. Maybe a headset too. That or I could upgrade my HTPC to be able to run the game as well. Do a classic living room beer/pizza thing as my battle-station is in the corner of the room next to the TV unit.

God I hope that post SPS put up is true! I have no interest in co-op, or anything else other than a proper single player FO game. That might get me to put Elite Dangerous on the back burner, which is a tall order considering how much I'm enjoying ED lately.

Still trying not to get too excited, but Todd is getting all involved.

TBH this is sounding more and more like a big game as the hours pass.

Just thought, what if they do the whole pay for mods thing for this one? Or loot boxes? Or some other piece of junk in game purchase? That would ruin it!
Please don't. Anyone at Bethesda or zeni max sees this, please don't.
Sorry to be the pessimist, as good as a developer they are, the accountants have got to be looking at valve, ea ect and seeing the steam of money they have coming in for a handful of textures. It's the way the games industry is going after all and all businesses are run by accountants :(
