Best x58 motherboard?

Dude mobo has nothing to do with if I overclock at all. Just because I am not going to overclock doesn't mean I am not going to need a new

Mobo. I didn't ask for a expensive motherboard I asked for a good trustable motherboard under 200$ and the sabertooth is under 200. As for CPU cooler I need one better than stock.

And if you didn't know I am currently using an intel dx58so which SUCKS! I have all the right to want a new mobo.

as everyone else has said +1 for the sabertooth, I have one and its super, has about the best sata 3 ports of any x58 board and great for overclocking if you ever decide you need some more performance

OHHH you guys are talking about Rampage Extreme 2 and 3? haha wayyy out of my price range weather it has usb 3.0 or not XD that is like a dream motherboard though if only it wasnt 380$

I think ill stick with buying a sabertooth x58. Gosh you guys using re2 and re3 how am i supposed to know what you mean XD

I'll vouch for the Sabertooth as well. Excellent in all regards, and I do have a NH-D14 on mine, the setup works great. I build a new setup every year, and it's been one of the best boards I've ever had so far.

so i guess sabertooth it is. as for cpu cooler either a v8 or a hyper 212 or something else. but i can keep looking for those cpu coolers. I will have 1tb for windows 80gb for linux and then 1tb as an external hardrive

crud. I found a serious problem my video card is a couple mm thicker than 2 slots and the asus sabertooth looks like it has an extremely tight fit, i dont think this will work

alright it seems it should fit but it will be an EXTREMELY tight squeeze. I have seen desktops with cards this close but is it really good? i mean the screws on the top of the video card stick out slightly that wont get cought in the fan would it?

I have 6870 sapphire non reference. I am planning on 2 and I need a mobo that will support it.

MSI X58A-GD45 ? lookin good? man this is a bummer. actually this only accepts 1.5v ram. I have 1.5v but I dont like that limit. Omg is this a hard thing....

I think I might just save my money a bit longer. Ok whats the best board under 300$!!

that has space between the 2 video cards and has usb 3.0 and doesnt have a voltage limit on ram.

ugh thats rough dude. I will do some looking around. I'm actually looking for a new Mobo for another system, I'll do some research and see what I can come up with. If you find something good let me know, not sure if I want another 1366 system or wait till they get the SB boards back on the market.

Oh yeah, what cooler did you go with?

yup i was looking at the xpower before I wanted the sabertooth.

Well i talked to some of my friends and since my graphics card doesnt go over 77 degrees when i have it pretty overclocked and running furmark on extreme burn he says it should be fine with a 1mm space and I have a side fan blowing right on the cards so if it isnt overclocked it shouldnt get over 77 degrees. I have time to think though

as for cpu cooler i might just take a risk and get an h50 though I think a hyper212 would be fine if I want 12gb of ram ill just get 3 4gb sticks instead of 3 more sticks I mean it isnt really much more expensive anyways. and I could put this ram in a different computer I have (i will probably get the same type of ram though just 4 gb models, lol i love this ram). But if the hyper 212 fits with 6 sticks I might as well just get 6gb more. but as for now I am not really sure still looking. I want one of those noctua models but they dont fit over my ram

If you're going SLI or Xfire without watercooling STAY AWAY FROM THE SABERTOOTH! Get a Gigabyte UD3R V2 or something cos the Northbridge absolutely fries on the Sabertooth. Also snap the ram heatsink off on the first stick and you're fine.

lol i looked up that mobo on newegg and got linked to this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134929&Tpk=Gigabyte UD3R V2 ram XD

as for snapping the heatsink off. 1 thats not an easy task, 2 that looks stupid

by water cooling you mean the mobo right? and yeah I would go all out in liquid cooling but its wayyy too expensive. and I only trust koolance.

I agree get a Gigabyte UD3R, its a board without many/any problems... I have one for 8 months now with my 930 at 4.2 ghz rocksollid. Tom has one in his testrig as well. Its inexpensive etc....

Cheers!!
