Best Video Player?

I currently use VLC, is there a better one out there? Or is it just personal preference

Personally I use Media Player Classic. Combined with K-lite codec pack it has played everything I have ever thrown at it, also I like that it's simple and easy to use

If you want something more like a software for a HTPC I think XBMC is the best choice, but it does require a bit more resources to play files than just a basic media player

Yeah Media player classic is pretty good, I actually really like PowerDVD 11. I haven't tried any type of video with it that it hasn't run fine.

You don't need codecs with MPC it plays everything anyway. Get MPC HC that is even better, codecs are just bloat you don't need them.

I was going to suggest VLC, but see that is what you are using now. I really like it and have no problems with it.
