best SSD for up to £150

I'd say a Mushkin Chronos or a Kingston HyperX on the Sandforce controllers or the M4 you linked if you want to go the Marvell route

I would get a sandforce ssd but i have heard loads of stuff about those drives getting bsod's

Check out the 120gb Patriot Pyro.

I just picked up a 60gb version, it has rave reviews.

I saw the reviews for those and in most of them it got slightly over 200 mbs which is a bit low compared to most sata 3 ssd’s.

As far as speed goes that OCZ Vertex 3 looks to be in your price range (not sure what the current conversion rate looks like) and it looks to be one of the kings of speed.

I’ve done a bit more research on that and apparently the firmware will correct all the bsod problems with vertex 3. It’s about £165 but they really are great so i don’t mind having to spend a bit more.

thanks for your help

Let us know how you like it, maybe I'll replace my Pyro with one.

If you are still not 100% sure, I'd say go for the Corsair Force 3. It is going for about £130 on scan and is very good in terms of price/performance. I have one meself and I am very satisfied. It's been getting very good reviews all round.

Go for the M4, I love it, not had any issues, make sure you update to 0009 firmware though, you get speed boosts galore.
