N95 black... Soon we'll see the N96 which looks rather nifty.

Owww, Life`s Good unless u want Wifi. I kinda thought wifi would be standard these days (don`t keep up with the tech so much, just every time I`m due a phone).
Nokia 96 looks nice, can guarantee O2 don`t have any.
If phones are going to be hit`n`miss with what tech they have. I want wifi, usb2, `good` sound player, and makes phone calls (working in the states too).

HSDPA is where its at. Up to 7.2mbps providing the network supports it.

I looked at the Orbit b4 getting the Graphite I have now. i can`t remember what it was that finally threw me one way.. noticed it`s the Orbit 2 now, not quite sure where the differences are. Ok mate here is an answer to the best of my knowledge. I own the standard N95 so i'm not being biased towards what I own as the black version is just blatantly better.
The standard N95s camera is exceptional really.. It has very good reception and the Wifi works very well. 3G is also very good. Screen is large and very clear. It can take MicroSDHC cards up to 4GB even though Nokia originally said it would only be compatible with 2GB. Oh yeah and the radio is decent too. Use it every day as a music player. Bad points are it utilizes its RAM terribly... If you have the radio on and go on a webpage thats more that say 500k it'll carry on to load it up to about 1.2mb but will close the radio and then say its run out of memory. The battery life is ok for normal use and you might be able to squeeze 2 days out of it. Playing music doesn't kill it too much either. Using 3G on it however drains the life out of it pretty quick.
For the black version Nokia actually listened to what people had to say and fixed these issues. It has the same total ram (i'm pretty sure) but wont run out regardless of what you do because of some mapping gizmo that fixed it up a treat. Seriously you can have every program open and as many webpages as you like. The battery life was also extended by making the batter slightly larger at the cost of the lens cover. The memory is 8Gb internal but has no memory card expansion slot.
Basically the N95 black rocks and I wish I had one

I have one of them too... Found it horrible.. It always used to restart itself if I dared to receive a phone call while listening to the radio and its reception was next to nothing when I walked in my house. The second part isn't entirely the phones fault but is a little as other phones on the same network get better signal. The restarting problem was due to firmware I think but. Oh yeah and the stick would go through phases of deciding when I pressed it up I really meant left and so on.
Good camera on it though.. But upgraded from it to the N95. I really needed to update the firmware I think.

After playing with a whole host of phones (inc N95, P1i, LG Viewt and a load of others).
It's the iPhone
Down sides:
Lack of 3G (WiFi makes up for it imo)
the camera (not that I use it anyway)
O² Contract 18months + Expense
Speakers (if ur ignorant enough to use them)
iTunes (I like it, but some don't)
Up:
Browser is far superior to any other
iPod functionality in a phone
Movies look fantasic (great for train journeys)
Weather widget is awesome
Maps widget is awesome
Touch keypad is very fast once ur used to it
Phone functionality is excellent
iTunes integrates seamlessly
SDK coming soon which should give some awesome apps
Fantastic easy to use WiFi functionality
Use of "The Cloud" on O² contract
Great e-mail
Looks sexy as hell (should be No. 1!!)
Some it may not suite but if you want a friggin awesome phone that has BY FAR the best mobile browser and loads of cool extra's then the iPhone is where it's at

iPhone, same reasons as kemp, other than i like itunes so a plus for me. they are coming with a 2.0 iphone really soon, most likely within a few months, it will def have 3G. some rumors say it will be slimmer as well. if ur an audiofile i would say its a must, i use my 210 shures with them and its just amazing.

Funny enough, the iPhone was one of the first ones I looked into (it being an obvious thing to look into atm). It`s like almost there with most of the facilities it has. 2 mpx camera would be a little setback, I really thought it was going to be bigger than that - but as I said b4, some things I thought today would be standard just arent (like camera qualities going up).
I like the iPod Touch too see, and by all accounts the iPhone is it and a phone afaik.
I don`t like iTunes, but you can just usb it in and it`ll show as a camera or storage thing within windows, so meh.
The N95 O2 is offering comes with 8G and Spiderman 3 on it !!! lol I`ll really want that >.< 5mpx camera.. 12 months..
iPhone does look sexeh, but I aint one to flash em about tbh. And a downside of the N95 is sliders, would rather a non movement thingy.
iPhone has a bigger resolution.. bigger screen.. 7g heavier.. longer talktime - but shorter standby time (which is weird)..
Both have sucky battery life apparently... and I charge my current phone far too frequently for my liking.
Ugh - can I have both ?

The iPhone autiomatically disables the screen when you put it up to your face during a call, so quite the opposite to hanging up on people lol
Heavy - it isn't really too bad, people have been surprised by it actually.
Battery life...lasts me about 3 days and I use it about an hour a day for video and about 3.5 hours music a day, plus 1/3 hour at least phone calls. For example I charged the phone yesterday and since then it's been used for 4hrs 22 mins and standby for 13hours 6 mins. It's got about say 65% battery left
