Best memory for e6600

That's a real shame.

I'm using 2GB GSkill 6400 HZ and can honestly say they're the best set of RAM I've ever owned, especially with the C2D chips, real overclocking friendly.

My last DDR was also a GSkill set, the 3200 ZX, and they were also pretty awesome.

I spoke to ST yesterday, and they were ordering in some very nice OCZ DDR2. I'd check that out on the site, and if its not up aloready maybe ask them when it'll be in stock.

would they be one of the best choices as i need everything as good as possible as im not a frequent upgrader :p

any OCZ sticks ive owned have been pretty ok, the lower end ones are a little problematic but im sure they would be much better. hunt down some reviews on google ;)

One of the best certainly, but one of the cheapest......probably not. See what ST get in and take it from there.

so far i can get from specialtech:

core 2 duo e6600

OCZ PC6400

silverstone tj05

asus p5b deluxe (as it stands)

asus en7600gs 512mb silent

no tagans in at 580w - 600w (i think this is the amount ill need)

i want a raid 0 setup but atm 120gb seems the smallest seagate barracuda (sata 2) specialtech stock

i dnt really care bout optical drives as long as they suit the case and read dvd roms and copy cds (dvd rw combo i was thinkin)

is that the best one to choose? its a bit pricey but if its worth it...also is that the power rating i will need ?

The one i linked you to is a VERY good power supply manufactured by Etatis (they make server PSU's). :yumyum:

As for power ratings, it's always a good idea to future proof yourself if you can afford the little extra.

A lot better than http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/product.php?productid=2476&cat=233&page=1

the strider?

ill get if it it means a lot more future proofing :)

Both units are very good. The Zeus series is manufactured by a more respectable PSU company - but don't let that put you off the Strider (i use the 600w version).

The 560w Strider is a single +12v railed model which is arguably an advantage/disadvantage.

If forced to pick, i'd go for the Zeus simply because it has more than enough grunt for powering future SLI/Crossfire cards.

O no Jim! Don't make that mistake! The 650W Zeus is actually made by Enhance, a bit lower on the ladder than Etasis. Silverstone changed to Etasis with the 560W Zeus

Nice catch mate, probably still a great PSU though. I don't think SS would throw their name on the line with a crap psu.
