Best Mechanical Gaming Keyboard For Under £100

As a current user of the Corsair K90 I can't recommend it enough.

However, if it was my cash I'd wait for the new K95 which is due for release very soon.

If they offered blue and brown switches as well they would dominate the mechanical keyboard market. Have to laugh at the left control on that k95 the switch is crooked.

seumasbeathan, are you bothered about backlight keys. Why did you want want green switches that will fatigue your fingers greens ain't made for normal keys.

Backlight keys are something that I would like yes, And tbh I didn't know that much about the switch types, but after reading up on them I think blue is the one I want

I don't need a numpad at all, I never use it, but I have seen the keyboards that don't have them and to me they just don't look right, there so small

Well it allows you you have the keyboard bang in the middle of the screen and your mouse will be closer. You can get a Ducky Shine 2 tenkeyless for 105 with Blue switch.

If you were to go that way just a get a CM Quickfire TK with blue switches, much cheaper.

I think the extra 25-30 is worth spending on the ducky for the better build quality. Thats also not TKL. I think TK is just something that CM have coined.

I heard lots of people saying that the build quality is similar to ducky, and since is much cheaper I personally think that is much more worth it.

That was the point - he said he didn't want one too short so it's a compromise.

Also I've heard nothing but good reviews on the build quality of quickfire...

Just because it's aimed at the gaming market doesn't mean it's worse than the non-gaming branded keyboards.

CORSAIR K95 look like dream, that is my impression.
I expect black keyboard from CORSAIR and they fulfill expectations.

I love LCD screen on my G510 only because reading GPU/CPU/RAM usage, temps and voltages during gaming... Gaming applets I don't need.

A CM TKL will be on par with double the price FILCO boards, yes the holy grail of mech boards, they use the same oem if i recall correctly, far superior to Ducky, i would presume, i recommended the CM TKL earlier.

I hope you haven't pulled the trigger yet.
It is essential that you find out which key switch you like the most. It's hard to do this in the UK since there aren't many places you can go to try out keyboards. What I suggest is buy individual switches from somewhere (white, clear, blue, red, black, brown, maybe even green if you can find it) and stick them in a lump of blu-tack. Put some keycaps on them and try them. You simply can't go by the 'key switch guides' because you have to feel the switches in order to know which one you prefer.
Secondly don't buy 'gaming keyboards'. I, and many others, have found that they are of lesser quality compared to manufacturers such as Filco or Ducky. There are a few that are of better quality such as the Zowie, but in general they aren't great. Macro keys are a bit of a fad aswell, since you can set up a macro to any of your keys using 'AutoHotKey'. I had a Razer Blackwidow and, to be fair, it was a decent keyboard although it had a horrible gloss finish that would attract all kinds of dirt, but it was flimsy.. and the keycaps were terrible. I got a Filco last week and you can instantly tell how well made it is. It's so much heavier than the Razer to start. Definitely worth the £120 in my opinion.

I hope this helps, and if you need any help let me know. I've done quite a bit of research into keyboards before I bought the Filco.
