Best Corsair hydro cooler for my needs?

Looking to setup a new Ivy Bridge based system, and I am trying to make a focus on silence, so naturally I am looking at the Corsair 550D as my case.

However, I am not sure which Corsair hydro cooler would be best suited for my needs. I honestly am not planning on doing any overclocking, and if I do it will be minor increments just to play around with.

I am trying to be wise on money when planning out this new system, but of course I will have to make some exceptions for some better pieces of hardware.

With all of this in mind, which Corsair hydro cooler, that can be silent, would you guys recommend? I know changing out the stock fans with something spec'd to be quieter would have to weigh in on this equation, as the stock fans on the Corsair hydro coolers aren't the quietest from what I have learned from Tom's videos.

Thank you!

Tbh if you're not doing any overclocking i'd go with a quiet air cooler that's within budget

Have to agree, if you don't want to overclock and silence is what you are after - why add the possibility of pump noise to the equation? A decent air cooler would be more than up to the job.

Agree with getting a good mid range air cooler.

If you must have a H for whatever reason you may as well get the 100 because the 80 is louder and only a little cheaper, and the others are gimmicks

edit: you should also factor into the price that the stock fans with either are rubbish so you'd have to replace them too. You'd spend a lot of money considering you said you won't be doing much overclocking.

I guess also the small footprint of the hydro coolers on top of the CPU is attractive to me. Helps keep things clean in the case.

Have to admit the H100 does look tidy in this case.

However if you are going for silence, then with the H100 installed you would have to open the top vents on the case, which will allow more noise to leek out. If you really want silence then you could easily run this case with just one rear 120mm and single 120 at the front - depending on your gpu choice.

Hello

i m thinking to buy the same case , i also dont want to oc my cpu so i m looking for the corsair H60 cooling solution, its quiet enough for my needs

I'm thinking to change the fan with 2 more or 1 silent and bring them inside the case replacing the one at the back of the case. My point of view is to make a silent pc so i dont think to install more fans around the case (for example rear or top of it)

Does anyone tried yet with this case or something similliar? I hope to not take high temps..

The H60 will suit you perfectly. With the right fan you will not even hear it inside the 550D.

thanks for the answer, do you think that if i add a second fan on H60 i ll have better results and same quiet operation? and if yes which one ?
You will get better results by adding a second fan. I am using the Antec H20 620 (comparable to the H60) in my folding rig with cheap cooler master blue LED fans and am getting very good results. Just choose a fan that looks good, and is quiet.
