Best card for £80 as of April

Right, I need to pick a gfx card. I want people to keep in mind the performance of a typically overclocked card rather than stock speed.

So far the ATI 3850 256MB seems best choice for £80, which o/c's to near 3870 speed with ease (apparently).

if I skimp on CPU (e1200 instead of e2160) I could stretch to the 8800GTS 320MB - which would be the best combo?

If ur talking about gaming, get a slower CPU, overclock it and get the 8800

Although the 512mb hd3850 is also great vfm

At the mo I have a 19" / 1280x1024 tft, which I'm not planning on changing right now. Am I right in thinking the benefit of a 512MB card wont be seen at this res?

OK, both the 3850 512MB and 8800GTS 320MB are the same price (£88), which is the best choice :s

had one of those mate, its proly 8800GTS not GT. well they do overclock well, you can reach 640ies and more from already quite speedy 516Mhz core stock. memory wise, had mine running at 2Ghz, thats gracious 400Mhz more than stock. well, it really was a good card, and hope so your one will be too

where you getting the 8800GTS for £88? its a steal!

Dont get the E1200, try to get the E2160, ace chip and can hit 3ghz easy

went for the e1200, a small sacrifice for the 8800gts instead of 3850
