Hi Guys,

My nephew got some money for christmas and wants to buy a 3D Monitor, which is the best???

Also he wants some Turtle Beach Headphones that will work on his PC & Xbox

Thanks in advance for any replies

there are some new monitors that just came out which have a new technology called lightboost. they claim it makes the image brighter while in 3d mode, which would be useful since the picture tends to be really dark when in 3d, so i'll look into that. also be sure to get the new revision of the nividia 3d vision classes,they're called 3d vision 2.

edit:

i wouldnt recommend turtle beaches,those i had really weren't that great... steelseries has released some multiplatform headsets a while ago which i would expect to be better,but don't quote me on that.

I also wish to get a monitor with 120Hz refresh rate. If it happens to come with 3D Vision 2, that's a bonus.

I'm trying to decide between:

BenQ XL2420T

Samsung S27A950D

and the ASUS VG278H (which includes 3D vision 2

Which one of these performs the best, regardless of cost?

Also, is 3D vision worth all the fuss?

I have a bit of experience with turtle beach headsets, the x11's are wired and realy realy comfy compared to the old revision (the x1) pretty good quality for games, pretty cheap and the best part is you dont have to mess with batteries.

The x41 are wireless and have a bit better quality, again really comfy, the only down side is needing to keep a supply if AAA batteries about but thats easy to work around by getting a charger and 4x AAAA batteries, use 2 charge 2, ive not used some long enough to comment on how long the batteries last in general but ive spent a few days playing online with some mates who have the x41's and they never turned there headset off all day (9 am - 2am gaming marathon on bf3 release

)

Another option is one of the Tritton range but i have no experience with them so i cant realy comment, my mate got a pair of the ax 180's about a month ago and seems pretty happy with them

There all realy easy to set up and swap between the xbox and pc but it just depends entirely on what he wants from the headset really, wireless of wired. My votes are for - wired the x11 - wireless is the x41.
