BenQ XL2410T Problem.

So I just shelled out on one of these beasts and first impressions are that it is superb, it's like having my lovely CRT back. Running in 120Hz with the D-DVI cable and all is glorious.

However, I decided to go down the route of purchasing a fairly cheap HDMI cable (v1.4a, at least that what the auction said...). The cable itself looks fairly good quality but I simply can not set it past 60Hz using said cable. Am I missing something important in regards to HDMI?

GPU; EVGA GTX580 Superclocked

O/S: Win7 Ultimate x64

Monitor: BenQ XL2410T @ 1080p 1920x1080

Any solution or perhaps a lesson which will clear up my bad understanding of HD and 120Hz?

I read this review about the monitor ( http://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?subaction=showfull&id=1291718728 ) and in the conclusion they said its not a HDMI 1.4 input on it.

If Wikipedia is correct ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Version_1.4 ) its only HDMI 1.4 and 1.4a which has 3D over HDMI.

My advice is to skip the HDMI, and use a DVI-D dual link instead.

Just read the same elsewhere, the monitor doesn't actually support it and there is a new monitor dubbed XL2420T which should be out soon(ish). I suppose I will just use the 3D Vision and normal 120Hz until the new one is out then I will seek to sell this one.

A bit gutting really because the place that sold it gave no indication of what HDMI version it uses and I am sure I don't have a leg to stand on if I were to try and send it back.
