Belkin Wireless G router

Hey guys,

I'm trying to set up this router with a friend's two laptops, I put the disk in and it pops up with the installation. I get to the second step whic is selecting the network adaptors and it says I have more than one adaptors but there isn't any to select in the list.

Now I know there's a network card in the laptop because when I open up the can see surrounding networks.

Help would be appreciated as always!

Thanks :)

Firstly, why are you even using the disc?:D, all you have to do is use the configuration page for the settings (192.168.1.1) and set password like that. The disc afaik is for setting up the router? Unless I'm getting this wrong.

Try disabling one of the cards in device manager, then re-enabling one of them?

Not sure, I'm not network savvy ;p

I've managed to connect to the internet with them, so it's all working; but when i unplug the ethernet cable from this laptop I lose connection and it fails to connect to the internet. Also when I apply a password it boots everyone off the network and doesn't allow to be seen or able to connect to.

I hate networking... D:

Thanks for the help Youngie, I managed to get the wireless working for a while, haven't checked the channel's on default as i'm not at the friend's house any more.

I will see in a few days how to do it.

currently I've left them without a password mainly because their internet wouldn't work at all D:

Hopefully I can get it sorted by the end of the week for them.

Thanks again! ^_^
