BD ready AM3+ rig

Hi guys. I've developed an unhealthy addiction to Folding @ Home. I looking to put together a new rig in October. Looking at (real) liquid cooling, I'd basically be putting a new rig together. I can salvage the CPU(Phenom II X4 955) and RAM (Corsair XMS3 1333), but my HAF 922 has 20mm spacing, so it's not compatible w/ most rads, my crappy Biostar A800GU3 is has single PCIe 2.0 slot, and my Enermax Noisetaker 485W PSU (used, bought from a friend to $40) is barely enough to power a GTX 560 Ti.

As far as water cooling goes, I made a thread about single vs dual loops. I was advised to go with a single loop. If dual loops are better for GTX 580s in SLI, I'll do 2 loops later.

Rig components:

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5

Cooler Master Cosmos 2 (Oct. -ish release date, prob. earlier)

Corsair AX850 or better

EVGA GTX 580 (not for a while, I don't have $1,000 to blow) + EVGA Hydro Copper II block

Custom Water Cooling:

Cooler Master SickleFlow 120mm (are there any better fans for under $10 CDN?)

XSPC RX240 (or RX360, or both) -

XSPC X20 reservior \_ may order XSPC Rasa kit for Dazmode.com

XSPC Rasa water block /

(14') 1/2" tubing

1/2" barbs(10 pack from DazMode.com)

(probably 5, they're only a $1.76 ea) 6" y-splitters

I got 2 questions is should I get diff fans, and is a 240 rad enough for a CPU + GPU? Or should jump to the RX360, or both together? I'd like to future proof my cooling solution for BD + GTX 580(s). I'm ordering the fans first on Monday. (NCIX doesn't process on weekends.)

Oh, yeah, for answering my nooby questions, thanks.

Thanks. I wont buy the kit. Is it ever a good idea to run dual loops? I would like to be a would be to not buy more W/C parts than necessary. I can get an XSPC bay res for two pumps. I think there would be an improvement if I loaded the rads differently (ie. CPU(190W) = RX240, 2 GTX 580s(490W) = RX360)

I'll be ordering 5 red CM SickleFlows tomorrow morning. Should I get the 240 or 360 XSPC kit. I'm selling my paper weight of a PS3 to my cousin ( plays games well enough; crappy internet experience + low PPD). I'll have about $150 to spend. I'll need ~$100 more for the 360 kit.

i wouldnt get either if your doing multiple blocks but... if its just cpu the 240 will be adequate

What would you get? I remember you said to get the Laing DDC-1T 18W pump. What else should I get?

I'll be ordering W/C parts once I sell my PS3. I can get an XSPC RX360 rad for $89.99 (<- will be ordering 1 more CM SickleFlow for push/pull if this rad is recommended)

Phobya products aren't available in Canada. Can you recommend an alternate rad? I ordered 5 CM SickleFlows, 4 y-splitters & a Seagate Barracuda today. The WC options are limited in Canada. NCIX carries products from most brands (except Phobya), but are limited in what #s + products they got (ie. NCIX only carries the XSPC RX360 rad, no other sizes or thicknesses). The stuff I ordered ahould come Tuesday. Dazmode is similarly limited. He's only got kits from EK & XSPC. He has a wider variety of products tho(shipping sucks, he's basically on the other side of the country)

God f**k Purolator. They shipped my order TOO FAST. I ordered it at 11AM yesterday, NCIX processed in a couple hours and then Purolator shipped it. Awesome right? Not when it's here @ 6:30AM the next day. I wasn't up, so I'll have to pick it up Monday. I guess that's "Express Shipping" for you. Thanks to NCIX for offering it. I just hope they understand what "good timing" is in the future.

as for the fans, id recommend BitFenix Spectre LED fans, they are quieter than sickleflows and about the same price and come in more colours and 140mm variants are available if the case supports them . here is a review for the fans from TTL/ OC3d

I would've but they're not available in Canada. I got 5 sickleflows to be delivered (again) tomorrow.

Question: Is it worth $9.99 (~5-6 quid) for a radiator gasket? Will buy one if it is.

2nd Question: 1KW good enough for dual GTX 580s? Planning on getting a Corsair AX series PSU. Current on is almost out of voltage spec.
