Battlefield V receives its first single-player trailer

After BF4 I had had enough. I downloaded a pirate copy (so shoot me) of BF1 and honestly I got bored before the prologue had even ended. I don't know if it was the similarity in graphics that made me tire of it so quickly, or the fact I am just totally bored of the format. They really are becoming Activision. FFS, just make a new game already you don't need to keep making sequels. It's boring, and it's s**t.

Last DICE game I bought was that Star Wars one with no single player. It hasn't been played either.

I felt War Stories was an excellent intro to the true BF experience; A stark diversion from their previous generic COD-style approach to singleplayer and instead provided something valuable as a showcase and instruction guide to the "true" part of the game (With BF1s multiplayer also being a sharp change in direction from BF3/4 while in my opinion being the most polished and solid all round FPS since TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. Being able to jump between different aspects(Tank gameplay, pilot, stealth, ect) worked great.

BFVs grittier hardcore-as-standard approach to gameplay in contrast to BF1's more arcadey feel (Esp compared to BF3/4) I'm sure will allow for what can essentially be viewed as an incredibly fleshed out and interesting tutorial for the multiplayer experience.

After the devs insulting potential customers for legitimate criticism I'm giving any and all titles made by them a miss.

What do you mean by this exactly?...
When all the manchildren kicked off that a game which has always used a heavy artistic license in their gameplay was not entirely and thoroughly based on exact details of real life, and instead again chose to use story lines that were original interpretations of events for gameplay, the devs dismissed it as ludicrous.
These people would likely never complain about the inaccuracies in something like Saving Private Ryan, or with some even BF1(Where you can for instance, repair horses with a spanner). But now because this inaccuracy can be painted as being some "PC" issue the usually vocal minority of gamers who think the rest care or that they're making some political statement will kick off because the devs didn't bow to their every demand, generally on issues that ultimately won't effect the gameplay at all and will likely take up seconds of screen time.

They said anyone who criticised them was uneducated, I sent the original trailer to my old history professor to see what she made of it but apparently according to DICE she is now very uneducated because she dared criticise them.

While there may well be some "man children" most of the criticism I've seen has been pretty standard stuff, DICE said anyone criticising them is uneducated, That statement alone tells me how far up their own ar** their heads must be because they sure as hell love sniffing their own farts.

In reality people who have actual connections to WW2 through various family members or just WW2 history buffs are sick of seeing it twisted to fit some political agenda and seeing as it's being made in Sweden we all know how ultra ultra ultra left they like to swing, I'm actually amazed all the allied forces haven't been replaced by black women with purple hair wielding an M134 Minigun in each hand shouting "Wakanda forever".

Anyone who attempts to criticise a piece of fictional work based on historical events for being a piece of fictional of work based on historical events must be lacking some education somewhere down the line (Critical thinking skills? One can be very well read on history but still lack the critical thinking ability to apply said knowledge appropriately). There are plenty of games and other media out there for people who want a war simulator or interactive documentary, but this is not one of them, and was never meant to be. It's meant to be a fun game. Being pedantic about accuracy is pointless; Because unless it makes the game more enjoyable for the majority of people it has little value to the games goals. Just like with basically every other war film or game ever created, besides documentaries and simulators.

Trying to assign some political motive is absolutely ludicrous on its own.
Trying to call a country who has almost just elected one of the most right wing parties in Europe into power "Ultra ultra ultra left" IS blatantly uneducated though. Sweden's recently incumbent Social Democratic party(Their "left" wing option) is already further right than most European right wing parties. Sweden's politics is famously largely an extension of America's; many would say they're the closest Europe has to an American puppet state.

Making the jump from one slightly disabled woman being included in a brief section of the storyline of the game to "all the allied forces haven't been replaced by black women with purple hair wielding an M134 Minigun in each hand shouting "Wakanda forever"" is pointless hyperbole, and the perfect example of what I was talking about in my previous post regarding blowing a very very small thing that won't impact gameplay massively out of proportion. Political agenda exists only in the minds of those with that stereotypical reactionary "PC gone mad" mindset. The vast majority of people will just enjoy the game for what it is.

Complaining about small historical inaccuracies(If you can really even call it that) like "There's a woman in the game" in a game as wacky and detached from reality in terms of gameplay as every BF game is can only ever be politically motivated.

I expect most of the complaints are not coming from people with any exhaustive education of WWII and the media surrounding it, or first/second hand experiences and accounts of it, but rather people with a school age/education level, with too much free time on their hands and a chip on their shoulder (Mainly because regardless of how loud these groups scream, they rarely seem to have any fiscal or material impact on sales or mainstream perception).

Do you work for DICE ? Because you sound like them, Anyone who disagrees with your opinion is "uneducated", Shining example of the "tolerant left".

I can't tell if you're serious or parodying anymore. I'm not defending any left wing politics. I'm saying it's not political. It's a videogame, not a piece of propaganda.

He does make some valid points though Dice. I mean.. you just branded an entire nation ultra left? Quite a bold comment to make really.

My complaint about BFV is as basic as it gets. Removal of nazi paraphernalia. It loses its true WW feeling to me. Couldn't really care about the stories and such, but I would have just like to see the towns and cities going through destruction (which is what BF excels at) along with banners and posters in ruins etc just like it was in countries like France.

The whole controversy about women in the game is insane. They played a very strong active part in the french resistance. So why is it such a fuss to add it in. Anyways...

discussion is maybe derailing a little here.

To be fair, the removal of nazi content or symbolism is required by many countries by law, including in Japan & several Europeans countries. While traditionally they get around this with different versions of the game for those countries countries, this probably simplifies development & distribution a fair bit.

Really BF games are about their multiplayer; If you want a more squad-focussed version of BF1 that leans more to the hardcore gamemodes then you'll probably like BFV.
