Battlefield V may support Real-Time Ray Tracing/Nvidia RTX

If this game has it that's just going to be insane. They already have some of the best graphics in the industry. Although I don't believe many people will use it. The performance hit in a competitive environment and then also needed a Turing GPU will make it not all that useful for a vast majority

it may or may not support a few RT features.

i doubt it will be worth it. but it sure will make RTX cards look much faster than regular cards without RT hardware support.

i remain sceptical about RT in this first iteration.
there is too much PR BS and hype.

reminds me a bit about DX12 that will change games forever.... mhm.

just as "insane" as hairworks in many titles? ;)

Well, if it is using Microsoft DXR, which is almost certainly is, the feature will be supported on all DX12 compliant GPUs. That being said, only Nvidia's RTX GPUs will have the Ray Tracing acceleration to get the feature to run reasonably quickly.

AMD could release a new series of cards with Ray Tracing acceleration in the future. MS did say that AMD and Nvidia worked with them on the API.
