Battlefield Hardline

Not content with having one game to patch/cockup, EA have announced another battlefield game, Battlefield Hardline. This is not your normal BF. For starters its not (fully) made by Dice, which is immediately a plus. Instead it is partly made by Visceral Games who are best known for making the Dead space series.

The game has only recently announced (sorry, "leaked") and to quote EA:
The game launches this fall and it’s a brand new series in the Battlefield franchise, set against the backdrop of a genre we all love – the war on crime and the battle between cops and criminals.
This Actually sounds half decent if they can pull it off tbh and as its not DICE chances are it might be actually finished on release.
What you lot think? Is this going to be good? To be honest, this worries me the most:
There's been a lot of buzz today about Battlefield Hardline – we're getting ready for E3 and fans found some details on our website about what we're working on for the show. We've been reading all of your comments and we're excited to be going into more detail soon on the ways we're adding new twists and turns to the foundation of Battlefield multiplayer and more about how we're bringing our strengths at Visceral to single player.

EDIT(s)- DICE still have their greasy fingers in it. They're making the multiplayer while the Single player is made by Visceral, text has been changed to reflect this.

Oooo a new Battlefield, so long as it works on day one then good stuff, but if there are going to be bugs half a year later then I'm not buying this.

Is it supposed to be a top fps contender, like BF4/Ghosts or is it going to be a smaller £20 game?

I think its aiming for payday the heist's area, so it'll be around £20.

As long as EA is involved in any way, I don't think it matters who develops the game. It could be developed by Bethesda or BioWare (please don't!) and I'll still wait for it to release before hoping for anything.

Dice isn't the issue here, EA is the issue, EA rushed Dice for release etc.

If EA are involved I'm refusing to buy it, which is it's singleplayer only anyway, doesn't really matter worth a damn lol

Tags copsnrobbers lol?

Still be interested to see some screenshots or gameplay videos of this, but PayDay, how is that Battlefield, this will be shite.

Good find with the trailer.

Not sure what I think of it really, I'm 50/50. I would prefer it to be a little more tactical and have police/SWAT raid buildings were the bad guys have to hold it, sort of like L4D barricading yourself in and keeping the zombies out, I've never really seen cops get in choppers with guns and stuff, it'll just be BF with re-skinned models I think.

This looks like a expansion for BF4,now we know why there are no mod tools,so they make charge for crap like this.

EA and DICE are one entity. They both need to be gone for battlefield to recover.
I remember when people made fun of MW3 because it looked exactly like MW2. BF4 looked like BF3 and this looks like a DLC for BF4. Come on people, accept that BF is just as terrible as CoD nowadays.

mp looks just liked reskinned bf3/4 all over again.

There are reskinned parts of MP maps and SP sections from BF3/4 in that trailer :\ They haven't even tried very hard to make them not look like they aren't.

The good thing is that it is mainly being made by Visceral and not DICE. How much DICE's involvement is I don't know, but the less the better :D

I'm holding off judgement till I have seen more of it, i'm not preordering it that is for sure. I will wait till it has been out for 1-2 months before deciding whether or not to buy it.

May I please just say that after having played all 3 dead space titles, including the latest and greatest, DEAD SPACE IS BUGGED AS HELL, everything is wrong, phsyics are wrong, feeling of the game is wrong, everything was wrong.

So, yeah, although I'm not a huge Battlefield fan, I believe that "Visceral Games" won't live up to Dice's game development mastery.
