Battlefield 3 recommended specs

The Dice community manager Daniel Matros says that the recommended specs are only good enough to play on the medium high settings!!!

Looks like a lot of people will need a major upgrade if they wan't to play on the best settings. The resolution was not mentioned, so there may still be a little bit of hope.

The story is here

EDIT: I think we need some benchmarks before upgrading though.

EDIT2: It might be a bit late but for those of you who don't know "Johan Andersson, Rendering Architect at DICE has just clarified all the confusion and issue a new statement on his personal Twitter account, which reads as follows":

"@zh1nt0 @Lezziter that is wrong, the recommended settings are for High"

Currently playing on a 720p monitor so i might be able to push the sttings a bit higher, but whne i get ma new monitor i need a new GPU

The resolution wasn't mentioned so we can't be sure at what resolution the ultra settings would require a 580 sli config.

Im wondering if there is a bit of palm greasing between BF3 and Nvidia/gpu manufactureres to make us rush out and part with our hard earned to upgrade our gpus ready for this game. Even if you do have a 560 i wouldnt go knocking on your bank managers door with cap in hand just yet, its gonna look fracking sweet even on these "medium" settings.

it looks very nice even on the 360console(ok they are gonna have to dial alot of stuff back), putting it in perspective, a 560 gpu alone cost nigh on the same as a 360

Granted, i went and got a 570 pretty much soley to be ready for this game(as i had a GTX275), but lets not asumme our GPUs are gonna put a shotgun under its chin the moment you dial in a bit of AA.

All will be revealed in a months' time (and we'll all have atleast have one pay packet between now and then lol)

That awkward moment when you start to grin as your 590s are shipping your way

AA? Max settings? 3 monitors? Im ready! Bring more intense games make better gpus push game developers to not do direct console ports to pcs anymore. Lazy *****, instead of being sad be happy and take it as a sign. I mean crysis 1 did some amazing things lets hope this game is gpu testing gold for years to come <3

. Wonder how it will run with two o.c 5870's in 1920x1080.

So wait....What will my Alienware m17x, with a 2760QM cpu and a 6990m be able to run this beast of a game at?

I think the 6990m is equivalent to a 6790 so I'm guessing you'd probably have to play on medium settings. We can't be sure until the game is released though so I wouldn't draw any conclusions.
