well.. its about damn time tbh.. .especially on the widescreen option!! jeez its been out ages now this should have been one of the first things they fixed!!

might be nice to have a HUD that isn't all stretched and fuxored lol

Never even played the game, but that's probably cause I didn't play the initial 1942 version (I'm kinda sick and tired of all these WW2-games), but maybe I should give it a try, as I am into futuristic and present-day shoot-em-ups.

Defo a thumbs up for BF2 from me. Was a die hard UT fan for ages and when the previous UT (2) came out i was severely disappointed but BF2 came along at just the right time. Cracking FPS. Got BF2142 when it came out and didnt rate it so much but as said before, looking forward to playing it again with the new release. Re-installed already on my lappy. Cant wait to get my rig built and play it maxed out!!

I enjoyed Desert Combat, only like BF2 for LANs with my buddies, and i hated 2142. Wont be reinstalling it again.

Aye DC was a great mod,did reinstall BF2 the other day but gave up after 1 day got fed up with it,i do like BF2142 and im glad there will be a new patch out with extra maps

what was the simple fix? i could get it to render the right resolution but the hud remained wrong

When you used +widescreen 1 +szx [x-resolution] +szy [y-resolution] on the shortcut? Worked for me... You can also regain the FOV you lose by using the Widescreen Fixer:

i knew about the custom res but not widescreen... i shall have to install and try that!
