Battlefield 2142 Demo

GameShadow!

@bazx

Yes i know, but not going to tell you :p

...check this http://www.gameshadow.com/. It's something similar like X-Fire and GameSpy Arcade with exception you can't chat and talk over it. As basic user you are allowed to download 1GB per month, BF 2142 is a bit more than that, but anyway it will allow you to download full demo. It uses it's own download manager and for me it was coming with speed around 400Kb/s :B , took me about 30min or so. You can subscribe for Premium membership which is going to cost you 39.95$ a Year but it gives you 30GB allowance to download each month. Also I'm using it for last couple of month to update my games. After you installed this app on your PC it will search for all games and will show you all updates available for each supported game, when you downloading patches it's not counting your downloading limit, so you can download patches as much as you want. It showing game modes as well, so if you want to try new mod in BF2 or CS:S get GameShadow and it will show you all modes (supported by GameShadow) available for every game (i think modes is going off your downloading limit). Anyways give it a try, i quite like this app :).

Cheers

i played the beta of this, it really hurt my hard disk, thats when it started making funny noises, i found the game lacking in substance.

i stuck with it i am @ 80% and down to 81kbs

andy thanks for the heads up i am not realy a gamer but i have a lan game comming up at work

Tried this out and in my opinion its just another load of buggy rubbish from EA. It wouldn't install properly at first, on the 6th attempt it decided to work. Then it wasn't starting because it's dependent on some old DX dll. As for the game play, well I wasn't impressed at all. I wish EA had spent the time and effort on ironing out the bugs in BF2, instead of trying to fleece gamers with a new product. They should take a leaf out of Valve's book. Just my two pence worth.

Been playing this for a few days with my clan [UKE] and I have to say, I'm not greatly impressed. Gone back to BF2 now as I find it more fun.

Wasn't impressed by the graphics in 2142 as they seem worse than BF2 which is pretty good on the X1950XTX. I did however like the loading times and the new Titan mission type. If they would only do something like that in BF2 it would be even more awsome!
