Batman: AA Question(s)

So my cousin bought Batman: Arkham Asylum for PC and it is now installed.

He has been playing the game for some time and it fully works.

But the weird thing is that when I was installing it for him, it didn't ask for the CD key.

That baffled me and made me research through the interwebs why it didn't.

So my first question is, why didn't Batman Arkham Asylum ask for the CD key?

And my second question is that is it possible to also install it on my computer and play it since there is no way for Eidos to identify both of us since the game doesn't have a CD Key. Technically that is. :)

So, um reply soon so I can find out whether or not I need to buy myself a copy of the game or if we can share. :p

Perhaps the CDkey is entered online when creating an account?

You will both be able to play single player yes, if there is multiplayer (online) and uses a CDKEY then I'm sure it won't allow you both to make an account with 1 CDkey, you could always share the account though.

There is a CD Key on the manual.

Figured out that in order to get acheivements you need to use your Games For Windows Live account and when you sign in, you need to give the CD key.

But you can play single player without any problems. :)

Guess I'll just buy some CD Key and install the disc from my friend.

Or use a different GFWL key. They're pretty interchangeable. Or at least were, I haven't played SF4 online lately so don't know if it still works.

Batman

With batman u get asked for the CD key once installed and u go to play the game, through windows live.

If you do not have a windows live profile and enter the key u can not save the game.

Kinda suxs if u buy the game and dont have a net connection!

surely this would be displayed on the case, clearly?

Its a bit strange that its a must for a inet connection.

You can play the game fully without needing to type in the CD-key but if you want to use your gamertag profile, download DLC, etc. etc. then you need to put the CD-Key in.

It works for people who can't connect to the internet but they lose out on DLC and such.

It is all down to Games For Windows LIVE. To go online with a legit account you need to use a CDkey. You can create an offline profile and play with a key. But you miss out on the online.

The thing is Batman: AA doesn't have any online. Soooo you aren't really missing out on anything. ;)

Batman AA

Not 100% sure but i bought Batman AA and last week when my net connection was down for 2 days, when I went to play it i got the message that I wasnt signed into windows live and my game would not be saved.

I would either have to quit and not play or play without saving.

I couldnt see anyway round this so didnt play it for 2days :(

yeah its same as on 360 i guess, you need atleast an offline account to save and stuff, and then gold for online (ie halo 2 ect)

Same thing happened with Halo 2 on PC.

Anyone else think this is like Splinter Cell: Batman?! :p

Very true.

One of the first things that hit me was on how similar it is to Splinter Cell.

Made me love it. :p
