just brought down the cpu volt to 1.4 and super pi and stable

temp full load 34+35

idle at 23+27

still at 3.44ghzhmmmmm

Just as I said! :)

Now you can try uping the FSB until it gets unstable and the up the voltage. ;)

hi got the voltage at 1.40 running at 3.49ghz

just ran super pi and never went above between 33 and 42 full load

:)

now at 3.50 and 1.45v on cpu

now at 3.5 at 1.44375 cpu stable and completed super pi same temps

what kind of speeds should you be able to get on a E6600 theoretically.

I'm running a Gigabyte p35-ds3p MB, and 2gb of ram and a zalman fatal1ty cooler. Atm my cores are at max 38 degrees.

ideas??

Great read, will be putting 4Gb of Crucial Ballistix in my box on Monday and will need to play with my BIOS a bit. Well written.

Thanks

Great Guide. Most stuff for the cpu I already knew, but the memory timings and such are completely new to me! Hopefully be able to push my overclock a bit more now :)

New here but loving it already!

I have a Dell Optiplex GX260 - 2.0GHz, 256Mb, 20GB. What's the greatest limit for a RAM upgrade and Processor upgrade I can do on it? Kindly assist...THNX*

Best thing to do is google your laptop specs and look at the max ram you can fit, its probably 2x1gb. CPU wise it really does depend on the board, seeing as its an older laptop your choices will be very limited.

It's actually a desktop but I'll try that, I'm rather attached to it. Thanks a lot.

Hi guys, new to this thread.

But i just wanted to ask you all about the vcore, i have no idea on vcore, on my bios settings, its manual, but im oc on

p5ne-sli

E8400 3.0ghz, oc to 3.2ghz - stock cooler

2gb of ddr2 ram

im getting stupidly high temperatures, i did give my system a super clean, and re applied thermal paste.. but why is it so hot?

ive heard people getting like 3.6 with stock cooler @ high 60's, low 70's (c)

to try and help the situation, ive just ordered a h50, and i hope that will get it up a bit more. >.<

so is it my vcore voltage? if so how on earth do i figure it out? >.< ive heard people say like 1.35v... but i dont want to risk breaking my system, as im still in school, and cant afford to fork out on a cpu.

cpu-z and real temp (im now running 62(c)
