Bad motherboard/cpu?

I recently bought the parts for a new pc, and today i fitted them all together. He is the build:

Case - Antec Nine Hundred Two

Cpu - Intel Core i5 2500k

Ram - G. Skill Ripjaws 1600mhz cl7 1.6v (4gb)

Motherboard - Asrock p67 Extreme4

Gpu - XFX Radeon hd 6950

Psu - Coolermaster GX-750W

I tried to boot up my pc, but all i got was a black screen. No beep, no nothing. It's weird because all the fans seem to be turned on. The gpu fan is running and so is the cpu fan, and i can hear the harddisk spinning. But the screen just stays black and i dont even get into the BIOS. I have tried with two different screens and several cables, and ive also tried with another psu and gpu. Ive tried running single channel as well as switching ram slots, but the screen is still black. There is a small screen for two digit numbers on the motherboard, but it isnt working either. Therefor i suspect ive gotten a non functional motherboard or there is something wrong with the cpu. Am i right?

You have got both 8-pin aswell as the 24-pin plugged in correctly? Make sure they are in all the way. That would be my first guess.

There seems to be a lot of cold boot problems with P67 boards, I had the same problem myself (P8P67), for me it was my USB mouse for some reason it would not boot with it in. I was talking about it on another forum the other day and some people are getting the same but with different reasons and different solutions, one person said with his MSI GD6 he had to turn it on wait for it to get going and then turn it off and on again before it would boot. Someone else with a P8P67 Delux said that his would boot but it took about 10mins before it would.

Just incase it's not a cold boot issue try booting with one stick of RAM and then test all of them individually incase it's the RAM other wise Google "Asrock p67 Extreme4 cold boot problems" and see if you can find any solutions.

EDIT: I couldn't find anything relevant to the Asrock p67 Extreme4 but as you can see it's common with P67 boards.
