Bad benchmark results

Hi All,

I'm at a total loss as to whats going on with my system & benchmarks.

setup X99 Deluxe II motherbaord with a 5960X @ 4.5Ghz under the hood.
32gb 3400 memory @ 3440 mhz
2 x titan x pascal's under water 2063Mhz +700 on memory offset
corsair ax1200i psu
512gb ssd

the tempretaure of my titans do not go above 43 degrees. In firestrike extreme I only manage to get a score of 21978.

theres obviously a problem somewhere and wondred if anyone can help me work out what the issue might be.

Thanks in advance

We are going to need much more information than that, cpuz, gpuz, corsair link, as much system info as you can supply during a bench so we can better understand what is happening.

Personally I'm not seeing the problem. Your score on Firestrike extreme puts you on the verified results at the same level as others with the same system.

What score were you looking for?

Try to remember that pascal cards do not OC the same as previous generations, just because your maximum core clock is showing higher than others, does NOT mean your card will be running faster or benching higher. GPU boost now works differently to control your cards speed, your average speed is now more important than top speed.

I'm expecting a better score than what I have at the moment, I have a feeling something is not right call it gut instinct.

is this a normal score

please ignore the 1st heaven benchmark as thats not mine, the one with the min fps of 9.5 is my system. surely something is wrong with this score also

Can you do a memory read run for me on Aida64

Pretty sure your issues will be based there. Mem scores can plummet and still be stable. This is why you have to do bench runs before and after OC'ing each item.

3400 is a lot for a 5960x - could be too many or too much volts on certain things (being on auto also) and just being a step too far on the silicone

Just looked up your Firestrike Extreme score

http://www.3dmark.com/fs/10341592

The clockspeed on your GPU memory looks to be too high and error correction could be killing the graphics score. Try lowering it to +550mhz and see what you score.

Also when you run Valley or Heaven 4 use maximum settings with 8xMSAA as this makes it easier to compare to other results elsewhere.

Which SLI bridge are you using, is it a proper HB one as it does make a difference on some of these benches.

Hi Tom,

thanks for geting invloved I think the memory test in aida 64 is it this your after?. cheers

Or is this what you r looking for Tom? CPU CPU Clock Motherboard Chipset Memory CL-RCD-RP-RAS Read Speed
8x Core i7-5960X Extreme HT 4516 MHz Asus X99-Deluxe II X99 Quad DDR4-3441 16-18-18-36 CR2 50393 MB/s

Kaapstad I'm using evga sli bridge as the nvidia high bandwidth bridge does not fit on with the EK waterblocks.
I dropped the memory down to +550 and now my scores are as follows

Valley FPS 109.2, score of 4567, min fps 28.4 , max fps 199.8
heaven FPS 1673, Score 4215, min fps 9.4 , max fps 287..1
Firestrike extreme 21036 gfx score 25709

so worse in firestrike than before.

You can get a proper HB EVGA bridge from them and it does fit with EK waterblocks.

I will give the Firestrike Extreme bench a quick go on a couple of watercooled Pascal Titans and see what I get for graphics and post it.

Hi

Its is a high bandwidth bridge but not as faster speed as the Nvidia HB bridge, I think figures are 450 on the evga & 600 on the Nvidia, but correct my if I'm wrong.
I just know that theres something wrong somewhere but pin pointing it is going to be a nightmare I'm sure

The proper EVGA HB SLI is identical in performance to the NVidia one (I have got both). Don't confuse the old EVGA bridge with the new on as from the top they look the same.

I have just done a run using

2 Pascal Titans
EK Waterblocks
EVGA HB bridge.
Same GPU core speed
Lower VRAM speed

I am using a different CPU so don't take any notice of the overall score. Just compare the graphics scores.

Your run - Graphics Score 26447

http://www.3dmark.com/fs/10341592

My run - Graphics Score 28902

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/15239048?

I am going to a run with the same settings above to see if using an ordinary SLI bridge makes any difference on this bench, will post shortly.

Edit just noticed you are using 372.90 drivers but I don't think they are much different to the 372.70 ones I am using.

Solved

Here is my result with an ordinary ribbon SLI bridge

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/15239352?

Graphics Score 24378

I have just lost nearly 5000 points on my Graphics Score.

Hi Kaapstad so there is something wrong with my results then as your results smash mine, the part number of the bridge I'm using is 100-2w-0023-lr im pretty sure that this is a HB bridge. SO I wonder what the hells going on with my system then?

Thanks also for doing the benchmarks for a comparison it's much appreciated

I have contacted EVGA and they have confirmed that my sli bridge is not HB, I've ordered one from scan but there not due in till 17th october, once I receive the bridge I will update scores. Thanks Kaapstad

As Wraith said above multiple posts here means one after another - you can group replies ect together or use the edit button to add more in later.

Multiquote can be handy too :)
