Backplate on an Aircooled GPU?

I have been wondering for a while if this can be done and if so, if people think it will be worth it to put on a pretty bent AMD 7870?

Just for aesthetics or to add extra support for the card? Pretty sure you don't have to have a water block for a back plate.

Well, I really do like the looks of backplates instead of a raw PCB, but I also really need the extra rigidity of the backplate too.

These come either for stock or watercooled with fittings for either and they have different designs.

pretty sure you can use a backplate without waterblock, as long as it fits your card ofc
you'd probably have to take the cooler off to install it though
