so yeh this is my second AX850 i got
smile.png

the first one got replaced eventually after saying it was making to much noise even when not under load , this one ain't as noisy but it still squeeks once and a while

when loading a screen or loading ingame , and also sometimes still squeeks on its own

in a nut shell its still the thing that bugs me the most in my whole PC , i mean for the stuff in it my PC is dead silent

the oddest thing is the store replaced the PSU as said and said it was fixed but ime wondering if they diden't hear it or caught it during its silent period

i tend to focus on noise alot so my question to you guys is

what should i do ?

complain again ? , leave it like my mom says ? , i can't let it go for sum reason i mean my PC is near perfection so the PSU noise is bugging me

is it really this common ? does anyone else with this PSU have this or had experiences

does anyone actually own one that doesen't make a noise ?

ime tempted to change brands to get rid of the noise , it gives me a crappy PC feel

still coil whine i guess ?

but i just bought special cables that can only be used for this PSU ....

not a big problem but still bugs me

sorry for all this ranting and hopefully its still comphrihensible

thanks beforehand

standard coil whine isn't it, seems like a lot of ax850s seem to have this problem. You could return it and try your luck again or get a seasonic / enermax / silverstone psu

just read the bit about the special cables, try the ax 750w?

dont ditch corsair they make amazing psus,

the only thing i can think of is coil whine

or something more most unlikely, the power source: you dont use like 5 extension cables plugged into each other? corroded fan header or solder. i don't even know :[

- Are you using any wireless cards?

- Do you have spread spectrums enabled or disabled in BIOS?

- Do you have turbo core features enabled? Eg. Custom GPU or CPU power/load profile scaling?

- Where abouts on the PSU is the sound coming from?

- Do you keep your phone (if applicable) in the same room as this system?

I7 2011 3930 k

intel rampage 2011

corsair dominator 16 gb quad channel

nvidia GTX 680

corsair force gt 240 gb ssd

soundblaster HD titanium soundcard

i heard i can try to disconect my speakers since they might be causing this ?

perhaps its cause its plugged into a socket power devider ?

just contacted the store and apperantly after explaining my problem

they said

theirs not much u can do really , no need to worry , its still a bit annoying but ill have to live with it

tbh that PSU should be silent. I've been running mine for over a year and have never heard it ramp up or squeak once.
