Exactly. They allow Netflix and other streaming services in an effort to stop piracy. They pass ISP data retention laws in an effort to stop piracy. They allow companies to pursue claims for downloading their movies and discuss things like banning VPN's (not that it will happen) in an effort to stop piracy...

Then they raise the price of literally all electronic goods by 10% likely increasing the amount of people who will turn to piracy as a consequence. Because why not?

Not like it will make govt any money anyway. Compliance costs chasing down small vendors will negate any revenue.
