'allo all.... I wondered if anyone could help me with information on CPU temperatures.
I've randomly inherited an old-ish laptop (Acer Aspire 1350), which had a Athlon XP-m 2200 CPU in it. I had an XP-m 3000 kicking around, so I bunged it in the machine to give it a bit of extra poke.
Now, whilst it works well enough, the fan seems to be coming on fairly frequently. I didn't bother to check how it was with the 2200, so I don't know if that's normal for the model...
Does anyone know if a 3000 would produce a lot more heat than a 2200? If so, is a heatsink designed for a 2200 likely to cope well enough?
Thanks for any advice...
