Asus Z97 Deluxe

Seems like they are sticking to that horrible pimp rapper colour of gold for the Deluxe Z97 series, Cant say this exactly gets me tingling about Z97.

Here's the first picture of a market-ready version of ASUS' Z97 Deluxe motherboard, from the company's mainline computer brand. ASUS seems to have received screaming feedback from some quarters that bright gold isn't the best choice heatsink color, and if Z97 Deluxe is anything to go by, we might see a softer champagne tone of gold, with a more minimalist heatsink design. The Z97 Deluxe is packed to the brim with features, beginning with a 16-phase CPU VRM. The LGA1150 socket is wired to four DDR3 DIMM slots, and three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots. Storage connectivity appears to include six SATA 6 Gb/s, one SATA-Express, one M.2, and possibly one or more eSATA. Other connectivity includes 8-channel HD audio with ground-layer isolation, dual gigabit-Ethernet interfaces, WLAN, and a large number of USB 3.0 ports. We also scored a teaser pic of the flagship mini-ITX motherboard from ASUS based on the Z97 chipset, likely named the Z97-I Deluxe. It should give you a closer look of the chipset heatsink design.

While gold may not be the most appealing colour to many people, I think that it would be cool to see some gold systems, as that would be something other than your standard red/black or blue/black colour scheme. If someone matched yellow ram (Like the ADATA XPG V2s) and a yellow GPU (Like an MSI lightning card) with this motherboard, I think that would look really cool!

Already been done with previous Z77/87 boards/builds.

I suppose everything has already been done, but it would still be fairly unique. Maybe not the only one, but certainly something special.

Wouldn't even be fairly unique if it's already been done ^_^

It would have to be a brand new idea that's never been seen before to be even close to being unique.

Okay, I guess unique isnt really the right word. Maybe "uncommon" would be a better choice. Still, at least for me, if I see a forum thread titled "Gold PC" versus one titled "Red PC", I would want to check out the gold one, because thats more interesting. Personally, I would rather own a gold pc, than a red/blue one because, of the rarity. I dont know about you, but thats just what I think.

I would call it the "Pimp Rig" ^_^

:D That sounds cool, and I would actually feel proud owning a "Pimp Rig". Thats why I think a gold motherboard is fine, because it allows people to create something special. If they dont want it, there are plenty of other boards by ASUS.

I actually threw up in my mouth a little..... ^_^

To be honest, someone suggested a build on the forum a few days ago in a 350D with a black motherboard, gold Vengeance Pro RAM, the EVGA GTX 770 with the gold badge and all and I reckon that could actually look pretty classy.

The 350D with it's brushed alu front panel, and then a mainly black build with little golden accents. That might work, but as soon as you go overboard with the gold and make it the main colour, it's going to look like a straight up pimp PC :p
