Umm no, not yet... As I'm generally a bit careful regarding the BIOS, as it's easy to mess something up in there.

In short, i can buy a Formula viii brand new for 250 or a maximus ix hero for the same price, i have a 6700k but will upgrade to coffeelake in the future, should i get the newer chipset, or get the better performer from the last generation ?

Coffee lake wont work in either of those boards.

Ah that's unfortunate, as they're keeping the 14nm and ddr4 i assumed the they would keep the socket, thanks for the info! I'm rebuilding a system for flight simulation, thus the extreme emphasis on processing power
