Hi,

Im trying to update the BIOS but when I try it says, not recognised file, even though its the latest ROM from there website.

Tried running BIOS UTILITY setup to, nothing.

did you extract the bios from the file you downloaded?? most are compressed and need extraction onto the medium, ur trying to use like a usb drive.

once you have downloaded the file SABERTOOTH-P67-ASUS-XXXX.zip from the website, it shoulb be extracted:

SABERTOOTH-P67-ASUS-XXXX.ROM should be put in the root of a USB drive (or similar)

NB: the latest bios is SABERTOOTH-P67-ASUS-1850.zip

Is that the only thing you have in the drive. If you didn't you may want to try to remove everything out of the folder except the rom.

yeah had the same issue when i did my build. i just unzipped it and removed all the other files from the stick and it worked fine then.

You can use the Asus AI Suite II that comes on the driver disk or you can download it from the motherboard driver download page from the Asus website and use that to update the BIOS from within Windows.

Just download the BIOS file extract it to the desktop, open the AI Suite and choose update, there is then an option to update from file, just choose that and select the BIOS file from the desktop. Or there is an option to update from the internet although for some reason that has never worked for me.

the problems have arisen with GodUK's "supervisor" build - it is being built in his kitchen on the dining table.

no internet access - so he is having to download files on HIS pc and then transfer them over to the new rig via USB
