That's ridiculous, Nvidia have just priced a hell of a lot of people out of their products.

They did that a long time ago. I miss the days of flagship and near-flagship GPUs costing £450. PC gaming has become increasingly unaffordable.

I hate the fact that PC gaming is becoming a rich man's hobby. I wouldn't have become a PC gamer if I was starting today.

Indeed.

Over half of people I know from work and social groups in my area that game on PC haven't upgraded in several years and going forward I imagine they'll continue to abstain what with Nvidia putting prices up again, AMD keeps stupidly pricing their stuff close to Nvidia and Intel is very low end.

Seems they all want PC gaming to die off.

I'll simply wait for udna at this point as honestly don't need a gpu atm until another shift there isn't a need for me atm.

Nvidia are an absolute no go and honestly they don't care they are the driving force for years and are responsible for the ever increasing prices that's the reality.

AMD if and it's an if they gotta do better at pricing aggressively and they simply don't they are always £100 or so over where they need to be and the next product down always a similar gap.

So I'll just wait until i see a decent offering and at this point it's from any of the three so until that happens the market is just a general intrest but it's crazy to be charging these prices and they simply cannot justify it tariffs or not if £1700 is the 5080 price point well it's a good £900 overpriced to where it should be i find that to be disgusting.

Intel and AMD can both take vast market share if they get performance up and prices down and reality they can question is do they want too I'm not so sure it certainly feels more like take market share gradually and then become the new nvidia.

tbh PC gaming is suffering outside of the low end steam deck or mini PC's or general laptops the prices on hardware are absurdly overpriced i mean look at the price of motherboards these days just crazy.

So I'll wait for the generational shift and decide then and thankfully my 6800xt is still doing a decent job of things cause i couldn't see me getting a replacement atm not at these prices.

Does this mean that the 5070 will likely be €1200-1300 and the 5060 will be €999?

These people are insane. At some point this has to backfire.

If it's true, maybe Nvidia is moving the 5080 to the place of the 4090. So the gap between the 5080 and 5070 will likely be similar to the 4090 and 4080—so bigger. A 5070ti could be €800-900, 5070 could be €700-800, and the 5060 and 5060ti will be somewhere between €450 and 600. Nvidia seems to like shifting everything a tier higher.

I'll just keep sticking to the used market. Let the "enthusiast hardcore gamers" who play Fortnite and COD get the new ones and sell off their "old slow" 4000 series.

Yeah, unless new tech is only available on newer GPUs and is actually worth it, used is so much better.

In the past few years, I have gotten to the point of wondering what people are thinking these days... that just because it's an older generation of parts, that it's like literally obsolete and/or the massive hate towards it.

As an example, saw an comment yesterday of a person calling another one "poor" for going that route and low end. Absolutely baffled me... like where has the world gone to honestly?

Just because it's last generation, doesn't make it bad. Hell even 1080's are still going strong in most things and that was released in May of 2016, literally almost 9 years ago.

I will personally stay with my 4080S FE for years to come (which I at times regret purchasing for reasons mentioned), no reason to upgrade or buy new stuff at all. Especially not considering these prices and how/what the future seems to hold unfortunately.

There's simply a lot more important things in life and especially considering what @WYP and @Dicehunter mentioned above regarding PC gamers today.
