ASUS' ROG Swift PG43UQ 4K 144Hz DisplayHDR 1000 monitor is now available in the UK

Mate's boss just bought one. I don't see the point. It's as big as a TV, and you're going to be sitting right up on it.

Even from around 2m back my 32" still seems too big.

Even Guru3D state this is totally pointless and uncomfortable as a desktop screen, when they did their review.

I use a 43-inch screen as a PC display, but only for my gaming rig. I just sit far enough back and use an old Corsair Lapdog or a gamepad (depends on the game). For desktop, 27-inch at 1440p is more than big enough.

100% agree. 27" 1440p is the sweet spot imo.

This above screen is the sort I'd buy if I wanted to lazily sit in an arm chair and wanted to avoid input lag from a normal TV.

I don't think many will be buying this to sit right in front of it, altough I've seen people use 55 Inch TVs as their main desk screen, those kind of people may just do that, but they're few.

On the other hand there's people like me that Like to be comfortable, I do have a 27" Monitor that I use on my desk as my Main, and yet I am looking forward to buying a 55" OLED from LG to place right on top of it, main reason why is when I'm at my bed, or at my couch or even if I just back of a meter on my chair to rest my legs on top of something and recline back, it becomes really difficult to read text in games and even to be aware of my surroundings, with my reaction time to attacks taking a big hit. So do wish for a 55" on my Room but that's for relaxing back and playing games or watching movies instead of working or reading on it And a monitor like this one might make sense for anyone who doesn't have sufficient space for 55 inch OLEDs.

Here's a rendering on how it shoud be whn I get to it (Mind you, the monitor is on a arm that is not on the rendering so I can lower it to get it out of the TV area):

That's subjective. Depending on your desk setup I have no issues whatsoever, best investment I've made.

You'll be surprised how many people have purchased them and they keep buying it, They are flying off the shelves here in the USA, I purchased one last week on 11/14/20 and there were 20 in stock on 11/7/20, by the time I went to get one on 11/14/20 only 7 were available and when I checked on Tuesday 11/17/20 it was Sold Out everywhere... Once in a while, you'll see them in stock, and then it's gone.

I have a 47'' Sharp Quattron for years and never had a problem and now have the Asus 43''... I guess those that can't picture themselves with a huge TV/Monitor must have a small desk setup or they just can't handle the screen size. My desk setup has great real estate and I sit 2 Feet 8' away from my Sharp 47" TV which I just replaced now with an Asus 43" Gaming Monitor.
