ASUS' ROG Swift PG35VQ 200Hz 3440x1440 G-Sync Ultimate HDR Monitor is now available

It's certainly a massive step above my current BenQ EX3501R. But that price? Damn! Great for those that can afford it; us mere mortals will just have to continue drooling over those specs until the price becomes more reasonable.

Didn't you know? An Asus badge adds at least 20% to the price of anything.
Go buy an Asus 2070 and wish you had bought the KFA 2080 for the same price....

What is the native resolution?

I dislike ASUS and their "overclocked" refresh rates advertised. I bought my 100hz screen before they corrected the marketing to state 100hz overclocked when its in fact nothing but a 60hz screen.

I would love to have one but for that price then No. I have both a Dell 34UW15 that can OC to 80hz. Its a great monitor.

I just recently bought the Acer Predator 34UW and its 75hz and OC to 100hz. I can see the difference in games with Gsync - as games are quite hard to play maxed out at 3440 x 1440.

I would recomend picking one up secondhand like I did - got it for 450e with shipping.

How come if I may ask?...

I just don't think it's worth it, IPS 27" 1440P 144Hz and Freesync/G-Sync is the best combo monitor for gaming as far as I'm concerned, Anything higher and it's going into "more money than sense" territory IMO ^_^

Understandable, so you prefer 27” now rather than 34” ultrawide, I assume?...

I actually prefer 24" as everything is in my peripheral vision that way ^_^

Right, and what about an 27" curved monitor?... This question is for everyone as well, anyone that prefers an 27" curved? As I've been a bit interested in ASUS other ROG 27" curved monitor actually.

In find curves on small screens rather useless, but I'm getting old. A flat 27-28" screen for me sits perfectly in front of my face, so I don't see the need for curves. But on my 35" ultrawides, it makes perfect sense for a slight curve. Just my opinion, everyone's eyes / desk position / etc is different.

Honestly don't like curved monitors, Looks tacky ^_^

Curved monitors only work for applications in my opinion. For gaming its a gimmick like 3Dvision

But I agree. I regret buying my 34inch. I think I'll go back to 27. Maybe even splash the cash and go HDR.

For decent HDR you are looking at paying a hell of a lot, Personally I'd wait a while until HDR on monitors matures a bit as right now it's a gimmick and you're paying a premium for it.

I am the opposite, I love my 34's and I also can use my 27* for FPS etc.

Buying a UW was the best buy I have done with hardware that I have done.

Until GPUs are man enough to run games at 3440x1440 at, or close to 200 Hz LG 34GL950F is the monitor to pick. HDR is still in it's infancy, and more pain than gain. It is good that this release is happening now, because when next generation of GPUs that could run games that high comes, and HDR is more polished monitors will be less expensive.

I would really like ASUS to drop that idiotic stand and offer something normal and discrete. I mean you pay 2700 BT (Bear Tokens) for a monitor, and you need to add another 200 BT for normal stand. It is stupid.

Why in the 7 circles of Hell do they need DAC on a monitor? I would understand it if they had proper high-end headset in their lineup so you can pair it with, fair enough. But they don't. People who rock studio grade headsets already have much better DACs than ASUS is offering.

Drop the idiotic stand, drop the useless DAC, and sell your product for 500 BT less. You will sell way more units, and you will earn more money.
